Refuse to negotiate in good faith with employees on strike. Have even canceled the health insurance of striking workers to force them back to work. Have threatened to fire them all and hire permanent replacements. Forced to work overtime up to a total of 72-84 hours/week. Many employees have worked more than 30 days straight with no days off. Corporate has refused to replace workers that left to such a point that one plant is understaffed by more than 100 people—the company saves money on pay and benefits, but also causes the extreme overtime and no days off.
Walmart actively avoids letting the associates unionize by firing them if they talk about them. On top of that they use underhanded tricks to disband unions when they have enough support by doing things like shutting down the entire stores for “renovations” store managers have a hotline to call to check to see what they can do to help with the stopping of the union. Looking into it can help you see their “we don’t support unions. We support the employees” way of things
SOME Starbucks locations are union, not all, but some. There are maps as to which ones are and are not. Support your fellow worker. Boycott the corporation, but support the union.
