An awesome pedal !!!

I traded in my boss metal zone immediately after trying this pedal in the store.(and it was well worth the trade)The pedal gives a greater range of distortion and when you think that you've hit its peak, just click on the top boost and you'll see why this is the master of all distortion pedals!!!

Not enough for me.

I was looking for thick distortion with smooth gain. This is not it. I thought every setting was weak. I am using a fender strat with Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge..cts pots etc. My Boss Drive Zone sounds much better than this. Maybe I just need to add a tube screamer for more gain..but this pedal sounded weak. I really wanted to like it. I paid for 2 day shipping to rock this thing out. As soon as I put a battery in it and hooked it up I almost wanted to unhook it. The gain wasn't smooth. Highs were too high and mids didn't help at all. This pedal is a one trick pony for metal I guess.

This pedal gives you a great distortion without sacrificing your tone. Doesn't make your guitar sound like a cheap Casio keyboard. You get a nice crunchy string separation in the style of 80s, 90s & modern Metal. I found more tonal quality and shapable sounds with Top Boost on also.

This pedal will give you some great tones! I found it to be a bit bassey and a little dirty, which for my needs is just fine. If you are looking for a tighter metal pedal this one is not it. Im playing through a peavy valve king half stack and 4 different gutars, all of which have SD Blackouts installed. Im happy with the pedal but it may not be for everyone.
