The Monkey Bar Storage Cross Country 6 Ski Rack makes it easy to lift your skis up off the floor and securely store them on your wall. The ski hanging system is constructed of industrial grade steel with a gray powder coat finish built to endure years of heavy use. The hooks snap into place and slide along the bar, allowing you to choose where to place the skis along the cross country ski rack. The ski hooks also have a rubber coating to prevent scratches. Strong enough to hold 200 lbs, the rack is 51" wide allowing you to drill the brackets into the wall studs. Its time to get your skis up off the floor with the strongest cross country ski storage rack on the market!
6" Narrow Hook: Rigid, Yet Gentle
The 6" hook is made of solid steel with a rubber dipped coating to ensure your items don't shift or move around while they are hanging on your shelving system. Each hook will support up to 75 lbs so you can be confident your skis are resting securely.
Durable Hardware
Included are two brackets and the hardware needed to mount the cross country ski rack to the wall. The brackets are specially designed to be compact and sleek, which allows skis to be neatly tucked away. Four durable wood screws are included to support the rack's weight when properly mounted into studs.

Nice rack but poor hook design for x-country skate skis
The rack is nice, heavy duty, and fairly easy to install. And although CC-6 model costs extra, I don't think there is a difference between the XC model and the Alpine model. The hooks snap on the bar and don't seem to come off like some complaints. That said, the hooks are just too wide, and long, for cross country skis, especially skate skis. You can see in the picture that two out of three pairs are barely hanging by the tips. I smashed one of the hooks closer together but since the skis are so narrow, and the hook overly deep at 7" in length, it didn't help. If Monkey Bars is going to charge extra for a x-country model, they really need to redesign the hooks. The hooks should be about a half inch narrower and about 5" in length (i.e. shorter). This would allow for classic and skate skis to fit better and still allow room to hang poles.
This is a complicated item to assemble and install because it is so heavy duty and uses good heavy hardware. But the instructions were clear and my husband was able to install without help and without calling the company which is always a plus.
Has made a huge difference in keeping the skis organized and off the floor in our garage. We love it.
I actually felt it was better suited for Alpine skis than Nordic skis because of the spacing of the arms. However, we use it for Nordic skis and since Nordic skis are thinner, we can store 2 pairs of skis per hook.

The Monkey Bars storage system for 6 pairs of XC skis is pretty easy to install. Directions are accurate and detailed enough so that you know all the equipment you'll need to get the job done. The screws are long -- driving them into the studs required some effort. But the result is a very securely attached system.
As others have noted, some of the hooks clip on fairly securely, while others can be dislodged from the main bar if you accidentally push up on the hook with the tips of your skis. We tried the "zip-tie solution" shared by other users -- and it works very well. I plan to switch around the use of this rack between winter and summer outdoor gear -- and to move the hooks around to accommodate the different gear. So we'll need to keep a supply of zip ties on hand to support the seasonal reconfiguration of the hooks. Hence the 4 star rating.
I am definitely satisfied with this purchase -- especially because I knew in advance that I would probably need some zip ties.
