This is pricey, but it is well worth it. The pot itself is very heavy duty, not flimsy in anyway shape or form. The cups are even heavy duty and thick with a non-stick coating. I assumed they were going to be thin cheap cups, not at all. For the best part, they make the best poached eggs!! True 5 minute egg, yolk a bit runny and a bit thick/gooey! No raw eggs, uneven cooking, just perfect each time. I do put a little piece of butter in each cup (very small amount) so I don't know if the eggs would stick w/out the butter. Lid fits well. It arrived on time, but it was not in an amazon box and no mailing address label. It literally was just as if a box on store shelf was delivered, odd. I actually thought pieces would be missing because the box was damaged. Due to the packing inside box everything was there and not damaged at all. Would purchase again!

I love this egg poacher! i am wondering why I didn’t buy one years ago... The eggs came out perfect...and I am tough to please with kitchen gadgets! Craziest thing...they shipped the egg poacher pan in its original box...it came banged up but everything was in there! Love Love Love it!
This egg poacher is great however it handles do get very hot like some other peple have mentioned. I managed to find a silicone cover for my handle that was originally for a cast iron skillet. It was tight to get on, but now that it's there it makes the pot easy to handle. I sprayed the egg cups with PAM and the eggs popped out nice and easy. I would make the recommendation to the manufacturer to put a rubber coated handle on both the pot and the lid to make for easier handling while cooking.
This seemed like the best egg poacher and I loved the 6 egg cups. I noticed the first sign of trouble when I left the water in the pan. The next morning I discovered little orange rust-like streaks in the bottom of the pan. My other stainless steel pans have never done this when leaving water in them to soak. I made sure after that to immediately pour the water out after use. I continued to use it thinking everything was fine as long as I never left water in it, but as time went by I noticed the bottom of the pan was bulging. I expected stainless steel to hold up better than that. (I purchased it Aug 2008, and noticed the bulging on the bottom of the pan Jan 2009). I've had my other stainless steel cookware for many years with no trouble at all.
With a family of 4 boys, we eat a lot of eggs! I have poached over a 100 or so thus far, and no issues. It works great, the non stick cups make cleanup easy, the pan has a heavy duty bottom to distribute heat.
The pan is staring to discolor, but I am not worried about that, as it does not affect the function.
I loved that this poacher has six spots, since others seemed to have fewer. The construction of the pan and lid is great. However, the non-stick coating in the egg cups began to peel after just a few uses, and now eggs either stick in the cups or come out with flecks of black coating. I'm very disappointed in the lack of durability.
EDITED: After writing this review, I decided to email RSVP International's customer service address to inquire about how to replace damaged egg cups. I emailed on Sunday night, and by 12:30 Monday morning, I received an answer requesting my address so they could mail me replacements. This kind of customer service is sadly lacking in so many companies. I am happy to own and recommend this product, based on their willingness to be of such thorough assistance. I wish I could add stars back to my review. While I am still disappointed that the original cups were not more durable, I am so thrilled with the customer service I received that I would now rate the product much more highly.
The pan is fine and heavy gauge but my daughter in law got a very similar egg poacher at walmart for 6 eggs and it was half the price--considered sending it back but didn't bother --should have done so
