My first Blue Lounge box was white and one of the larger ones when you could still purchase them WITHOUT the power strip. They were cheaper then and since I don't need a power strip but was forced to purchase this cable organizer with one, I deducted a full star.
Quality is the same and the box (I ordered 4) worked out for my application. I used them to hide the extra cable and power cord wires from my security cameras. They all fit on the stand I'm using for my DVR and although I would have preferred the white but was unwilling to pay even more money, the pink worked out very well. It's not bright like in the picture but a deeper more muted dark rose and works well with my living room décor for a spot of color that doesn't clash with it's surroundings.
They are the exact same measurements as listed on the product page, so no surprises there and the quality is still very good, although I think most of these types of things are over-priced considering it's little more than a plastic box!
My only complaint is that they don't seem to sell these anymore without a power strip. I would like to see them give consumers A CHOICE as to whether or not they want or need one. I now have 4 power strips I'm not using. Maybe I'll find a use for them someday. Maybe not.
I chose this cablebox, rather than a few others that were cheaper, because it included the power strip that fits inside and because it looks nicer than some of the others do. I decided to buy this after my cat ATE the ends of our phone charger cords (he has some weird fixation on them, and refuses to leave them alone!). I had previously been rigging up various cardboard boxes to put our power strip and cords inside of, but my cat saw this as a personal challenge and always got into them, not to mention it was hard to get anything out of them when I needed to. I finally bought some new phone chargers and ordered this at the same time, and ever since I plugged everything in my cat hasn't been messing with it. He can't get into it and I haven't seen him trying as much as he was before. The lid fits snugly but not so tight that you can't get it off. everything fits inside perfectly, and it's tall and wide enough to accommodate bigger plugs. It was the perfect solution for cat-proofing our cords, and I would imagine would work well for keeping plugs away from small children too.
Love the fact that this came with its own mini surge protector. I was able to plug in all my lamps and chargers, and now my bedside table is all lovely and organized. I think I'll need the bigger one for my desk, but this is perfect for what I needed in my room.
Exactly what I never knew I needed. I have cables going in a million directions before the Blue Lounge Cable Box. Now they are all concealed in this bright pink box, beautiful! FYI, the color really is this bright. You won't be sorry.
The Cablebox Mini is as described. It hides the clutter of cords for electronics. I believe it is a little pricey for what you get but since I am a little OCD and despise clutter I don't mind paying the price. So if it doesn't bother you that much to have several cords hanging from your desk or in a mess on the floor then I would forgo this product. However if you are a neat freak like me then this is a great product to have.
I have been able to mount them (using heavy-duty doubke sided tape) to the bottom of my desktop- just afix tape to the long side of the box (so the lid is perpendicular to the desktop and not upside down) and then secure it to the desk with an alternate source (I used huge plastic ties) for 3 days while tape cures. I also tucked a little tape to the inside, to attach the lid, but I don't think that would be necessary had I not really overstuffed the box.
Large enough to hold my: (1) laptop computer power cord and converter; (2) docking station power cord and converter; (3) block and cable for my phone headset; and (4) a four port USB charger with four charging cords (two Apple, two micro-USB), though I did have to use a 4" mini-extension cord to fit them all on the surge protector (that fits too!). If it's not clear from the description, the surge protector is included but I had to buy the mini-extension cord separately.
Amazing method of organizing a lot of cords. I use a standing desk at both home and work, with no modesty panel, which means that there's nowhere to hide cord clutter. With this, I only need to run one cable (from the surge protector) down to the wall socket, and even if someone sees the main charging area, all that's visible is a pink box.
I have had no problems with the box overheating, even though I keep these pretty full. It actually amazes me how well sized they are - not bigger than necessary, but large enough that it's possible to stash lots of chargers and converters.
I use these everywhere - in our den, work, home office, bedroom- and cannot recommend them strongly enough.
