Power to the Funk

Power to the Funk
What an outstanding surprise that this CD comes with an Uncle Jam Funk history booklet. The booklet includes both a narrative and beautiful artwork the likes of which has all but evaporated from mainstream accessibility. I had to wait nearly two months to get my copy, due to its obvious rarity, but that's the price paid for a fairly exclusive piece of funkistory.

Although it took a while to get to me, I must say that I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I realize how hard it is to find a copy of this CD, but you guys really came through for me. The packaging, all of the original album artwork. sleeve notes and lyrics. Wow! I now own a piece of valuable music history. I am very happy. Can't wait to take a walk down memory lane while enjoying this CD. Thank you, Movie Mars. Much appreciated.

This was shipped much better than Amazon normally ships vinyl to me and the quality of this remastered and repressed record is simply amazing! This was done by a UK company called Charly, and I'm really impressed! Hands down one of the best records I ever bought off Amazon. Oh, and the album audio quality sounds great too! Buy this before it goes out of print!

the reason I like it I am a George Clinton fan and he is from my home town Kannapolis nc. when I was a child and just listen to the beat of the music and like it. now as a 27 yr illuminati and new world order mem. u understand now how he sold his soul for greatness and the more u understand how things work. you can see the satanic star on his boots on the album. and the knee deep is a classic it the 15 min. version and its just take me back to the 70s and the sat. night watching my mom getting dress to go out or having a house party for me I use the music to help my creative drive. the album compares to other George Clinton and it has met my expections and more!!!1

    thanks for reading my review!!!!!

This is sort of different from the rest of the Funkadelic I have heard so far. There was always something that felt Zappa-ish in their stuff and this album reminds me of Frank quite a bit. Not in the complexity but the style of the songs. Ballads, instrumentals and such. There are a couple of straight up funk tunes that could have been done under the Parliament name and those are always awesome to hear. Overall I really dig this album for being one of the more diverse and out there Funkadelic albums I have heard so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charly finally delivers

Great album but more importantly Charley finally delivers on the sound with the 2014 release. Although no mention in the liner notes, the sound on this cd is much better than all previous releases which, in my opinion, sounded somewhat leaden.
This applies to all 4 in the Charly 2014 series of late Funkadelic albums

Funky late album with excellent first 3 tracks. The latter tracks are a bit half-arsed but overall its pretty great. Uncle Jam is an awesome track.
