    I ordered two and put them both in boiling water and the circuit was still open. Should have closed at 200 degrees F. Glad I tested them before installing them in my boat. My engine would have overheated without knowing it and could damage or destroy the engine.

    This is an excellent alternative to the OEM quicksilver/Mercruiser temp switch on a 3.0-litre I/O engine. Fits perfectly; it hasn't gone off yet, thankfully! But I hope when/if the time comes, it'll help prevent the engine from overheating.
