    There is no way this is .5 horsepower I have .35 IR die grinder and it runs circles around this thing. But I will say the spindle lock is really nice.
    Well I've now had it for 2 months and it's lost most of what little power it had. I even oiled it 3 times a day but it just didn't hold up

    This Astro die grinder has some nice features: quick lock collet and you can rotate the base to put the trigger into around 8 different positions I believe (securely snaps into each one with a locking feature - a release that you slide down to rotate).

    The grinder itself is ultra quiet and plenty powerful for a right angle (18,000 rpm, 0.5 hp).

    I’ve seen Eric O, of SMA using this one for years with the hub / rotor cleaner attachment that allows you to clean around each wheel stud.

    It has been discontinued (assuming it didn’t sell all that well; can’t find any complaints), but it feels solid and well built just like Astro’s other grinders and pneumatic tools, and you can basically get a lot of tool for a discounted price. Die grinders that are well lubed, greased, and maintained will last a long time. So I believe it is a great value.
