- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2019Installed on a 2002 Ford Expedition 5.4 4x4. Install was easy and painless, especially if you do it when you're doing a coolant system flush. Had this heater installed for about a year and half now with no leaks to report(Installed July 2018). Warms the truck up real nice when the temps drop low. Engine starts with ease and makes cleaning off windows after snow and ice much less annoying. ECT monitoring shows about 20-25 degree F increase in temp per 30 mins plugged in. The only minor gripe would be that a slightly longer cord would be more ideal. I just connected a short piece of outdoor rated extension cord, then used electrical tape to seal it to the heater power cord. Product has worked flawlessly since install.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 202108 Crown Vic, I used air tools to clean the inside bore of the hole with a scotch-brite type flapper to ensure no material was removed, I did grind the face smooth and flat because it was rusty and pitted. Rubbed coolant on the rubber seal, I torqued the bolt and as I was adding the coolant it began to seep a very small drip, so I removed the heater and added a smooth thin coating of ultra black sealant to the bore and face and re installed and allowed the sealant to dry for hours with a shop light heating the area. No issue after filling and driving around and letting it get cold then again driving and cooling, always check coolant level cold NEVER HOT so once I ensured the coolant level was correct after 2 cycles of hot then cold I plugged in the heater with outside temp at 34 degrees and waited 1 1/2 hours then checked if my temp gauge showed anything -no- so I started it and the air was NOT COLD but not warm within The 90 minutes, at this pointe I say it’s a good purchase because it would take 5 minutes I guess to get to that pointe. I am testing again right now @ 1:09 am Tuesday 2-19-21 in Michigan @ 31 degrees.
I will follow up in a few hours....
Follow up——1-21-21– seems like 1 1/2-2 hours is minimum to ensure 60 ish degree heat instantly, I had warm air in like a minute last night @22 degrees after 2 hours plunged in. I am happy with the outcome because I assumed this is exactly how it would pan out. If you need actual HEAT you need to get remote start!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2017This is awesome! Works great on my 2007 Ford Expedition. MAKE SURE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN PULLING OUT THE ORIGINAL PLUG! I accidentally hit mine into the block. Luckily the mechanic was able to fish it out. Also, the installation will drain all of your coolant if you have a 5.4 Triton engine. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the engine. Drain it first or you're going to have a face full of coolant.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024Only wish is that the cord was longer. It barely reaches past the grill. Otherwise works and fit’s as described.
UPDATE Nov 2024 - Entering the 2nd winter and the heating unit has shorted out. Had hoped the cord rubbed through someplace, but no luck.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2017Works as advertised, needs to be about 1ft longer to place at the front grill for my 2006 f250. pop out the block plug with a 5gal bucket to catch the fluid. Use a big screw driver wedge it on the top corner of the round block plug and tap with hammer until it swivels and the fluid will drain into the bucket. after thats done pull the plug out with some pliers and place the heat element loosened into the opening, with one hand put pressure on tge element plug with a tool and with the other tighten the bolt which will secure the seal into the engine block. Use cheesecloth and filter your old fluid to reuse. After testing at below 0 temps for about two hrs hooked up, the engine block was at 83deg with a laser therm, the surrounding metal was approximately 3deg F, so it was heating the coolant and warming up the engine block. I gave it 4 stars due to the need to extend the plug to where i wanted it.
UPDATE: JAN 2018 -24 BELOW ZERO,
this block heater is working well. Truck starts up with little effort, heater is warm within about 5-7 mins of running. I did this last year in warm weather and now its paying off. Get it. I also use a timer that turns it on and off periodically throughout the day/night. no sense in wasting energy.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2017Works great! Install was easy since I was already flushing my radiator and had it drained out. Power cord was plenty long for my truck. It's nice not having to wait as long to warm the engine when it's really cold.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2016Direct fit for my 2005 F150 5.4. Install was a mess, but straightforward. I turn it on for 4 hours in the morning before leaving and my truck coolant temp is at 125*F by the end of my driveway. This is around 0*F. Really looking forward to it on those -35 degree mornings.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2018This thing works amazing. I have it on my 02 crown vic. Running off of a timmer from 12 midnight to about 4:30 am. I have warm air instantly. Amd the motor is to normal temp in about 3 blocks. Driving 35 mph. And around 35-45 degrees outside

Does the job, would buy again. Shipping time was not up to Amazon standard..it took forever to get here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as it should be
This plug doesn't expand enough when you tighten it.
It remains loose but sealed. I put sealant on the inside of the flange and it worked. Hopefully it lasts

4.0 out of 5 stars zerostart 310–0040 Bloc moteur Chauffage
