I bought this mug as a present for my partner and he loves it. I've had a similar white opaque one for years and love it. This mug uses the same infuser and mug size, but is made from a clear durable glass. The mug is generously sized at 16-oz. and the infuser sits comfortably inside it - and can be used in other mugs when I neglect to wash this one. The infuser's small holes keep all the loose tea particles inside. I can foresee it having trouble with an ultra-fine blend, but my roobois, green, and black teas rarely leaving me with the gritty aftermath that some tea infusers/balls do. The infuser is made of a durable metal that doesn't bend when you clean it and is generously sized to fit a sponge.

The lid is great for steeping, but is also very handy for resting the infuser on while I sit at my desk. It can get warm - you know the whole adding boiling water thing, so I recommend placing the lid on a coaster so as to not leave marks on a wood desk. This doesn't detract at all from the mug, and is more just a matter of physics.

All-in-all, this a useful and beautiful mug. I foresee using it for years to come.

I just received this mug and it is currently on its maiden tea voyage. The strainer is excellent: it is large, allowing my loose leaf tea to steep freely, but I prefer these types of strainers over mesh mostly for cleaning purposes. I absolutely LOVE that the lid can be used as a coaster for the strainer. I bought this mug set for work specifically because it combines design and function wonderfully (I work in sales, and my desk needs to look good in order to match the design of the office. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true). Now I can enjoy loose leaf tea at work without my desk looking messy.

I also like that this holds a LOT of tea. It's a big mug.

The only thing I don't like about this mug is the design of the handle. It is very large and also very thin and it feels a little unstable in my smaller hands. There's no easy way to hold it without making it look like I'm holding on to it for dear life, which I think also has to do with the shape of the handle. However, I don't know if that's a problem for many people.

Sometimes I get tendonitis in my wrist and lifting mugs can irritate it, but this mug is at least half the weight of my normal ceramic large mug I've been using. The strainer is perfect for all kinds of tea, and the holes are small enough for any herbal or rooibos you throw at it.The lid fits great if you want to steep & keep hot, and it's perfect for setting the strainer on when you're done steeping. The fine mesh strainer is also very smooth, which matters when you go to rinse out for your next cup. The pieces aren't as hard to remove like they are for the more "scratchy" strainers out there.

I bought this to use at work for a good looking and functional tea mug for loose leaf tea. It is great! It looks good, doesn't seem to stain, and holds up. When I first got it, I was worried the thin glass would be fragile, but I've accidentally knocked it around a few times and it holds up perfectly. Apparently it's the same material as laboratory glass equipment, so it will survive quite a bit. The infuser works like a champ, but it's difficult to clean in an office environment (no sponges, small sink). I took it home to use there and use this mug with tea sacks at work. The lid is great; the silicone makes it seal well over the top (not to reduce spillage, but to keep contents hot), and it's useful as a coaster for the aforementioned tea sack (or infuser if you use it). The handle is great, easily fits three fingers (not like some of those 2-finger deals that make me nervous). Definitely recommended.
