About this item

  • Just as versatile as a traditional chef’s knife, the Santoku Knife is also known as a Japanese chef’s knife. The Four Seasons 7” Kullenschliff Santoku, has a thin taper for maximum precision when slicing vegetables, fish and meat. The kullens are the semi-circular hollows on either side of the blade, reduce adhesion and ease the cutting and separation of meats, cheese and vegetables. The stamped blade and handle are compatible in width and weight, resulting in a well-balanced knife.
  • The Messermeister Four Seasons knife collection stands up to the daily challenges and high volume of commercial kitchens. They are die-cut from a single billet of fine German stainless stamping steel alloy and outfitted with colorful, over-sized, molded hygienic handles. These knives are constructed to resist oxidation to repeated exposure to moisture, easily sharpen on a honing steel and offer an extensive selection of blades for specific food service tasks. Assembled in Santa Catarina, Portugal by competent craftsmen.
  • The German 1.4116 stainless carbon alloy blade resists stains and corrosion, exhibits toughness and durability, holds its edge retention, and is easy to resharpen to a razor-like edge.
  • This knife line is one-piece stamped, which produces a strong blade from heel to tip. The blades are heat treated and cooled to achieve a Rockwell of 56-57.
  • The over-sized, hygienic, molded, seamless polypropylene handles provide comfort for the extreme demands of a commercial kitchen.
  • Handcrafted in Santa Catarina, Portugal.
  • The Knife for Life guarantee provides a lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

Good steel
5 out of 5 stars
Good steel
I changed the edge profile with Japanese wets stones. This thing will cut paper towels after only 10 strokes on ceramic and 10 strokes on each side of a 4 sided strop. About 2 minutes of work. Softer steel gets sharp fast. Love it.

This knife is phenomenal. It’s high quality and it’s SO SHARP! I use it every time I cook. It’s not a heavy knife and glides through anything so easily, like butter. Buy 10 of them. You won’t regret it.

Light weight but works great for home kitchen

I have a number of kitchen knives and this is my second Messermeister. For a fibrox-type handle I usually go with Victoronix which I really appreciate and is probably the most common commercial kitchen knife brand. I really ordered it for my wife and luck would have it the handle fits her hand perfectly. I use it but the handle is smaller than I like. The knife keeps a beautiful edge and the slight rocker style blade is great for herbs and mincing. Great knife.

Wrap and stays that way for many years. We bought another one over ten years ago at Macy’s. Between then and now we bought others from here and there but this brand is still the best of them all. I will no longer buy any other brand. It’s just better by a mile.

I didn’t like that it was so lightweight but I still love the knife friendly on the hands and wrist.

Pretty thin edge on it have to be careful not to fold it

3.0 out of 5 stars Not consistent quality
Reviewed in Australia on September 17, 2021
I bought 2 Four Seasons Kullenschliff Santoku Mincing Knife, 7", a blue and a red. The sharpness is great but at a closer look, I found that the finish is not consistent. The red one has a rounded corner at the end of the choil where the cutting edge starts, but on the blue knife that corner is square and sharp, not round off like the other which I can cut myself using the knife. Looks like their quality control is not up to standard. I am quite disappointed by that. I don't know what the seller will say or do in regard of this. I really would like a replacement.

The sharpness is as expected. But was expecting a knife with little bit more weight. And handle feel like not that standard plastic.
