Product Description
Ultimate comfort and performance give this iconic clog silhouette what you need for a long day on your feet. a removable cushioned footbed and slip-resistant outsole will keep you on-the-go in the pro xp clog
Ahhhhh, Dansko. There you go again. Doing your all-day comfort thing. Making us feel so good on our feet. With excellent arch support and legendary comfort, you let us stand longer than ever. And with great styles in a range of heel heights, you have us feeling all tingly inside, just like the day we first met. When wife and husband team, Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup discovered the world's most comfortable shoe in a tiny shop in Denmark in 1990, they just had to bring some home for their friends. When their friends tried them on, they told their friends. And just like that, a shoe company was born. Now Dansko not only sells their original clogs, but also heels, boots, sandals, wedges and flats too! Every style features the Dansko DNA - materials and construction carefully selected to promote good foot, leg and back health, so that you can stand better, for longer. Say goodbye to choosing between looking good and feeling good. And say hello to having it all. Wipe clean.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2016I have high arches and because of this, initially found that the part of the shoe that goes over the top of my foot close to my ankle is so rigid that they were uncomfortable to wear for more than a little while at a time. Fortunately, since they are leather, the break-in was very brief and they are now extremely comfortable. Additionally, they are great looking and seem to be very high quality--I am confident that they will last. Also, I think the footbed is very comfortable and they seem to support my high arches just fine. I have both the patent black leather and the blue Cayman style. The blue Cayman is absolutely Exquisite and the color in the picture does not do the shoe Justice. It is a beautiful almost metallic silvery blue and I just love it.
Also be sure you understand the difference between the professional clog and the pro XP mule. I find the pro XP mule to be significantly more comfortable than the regular professional clog and worth the extra money.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2016This shoe is just gorgeous! Tooled leather is rich and professional in appearance. I am a dialysis nurse which, in my clinic, we are on a concrete surface for up to 12 hours at a time (2 -30 minute breaks). The floors are concrete which is a difficult surface to stand on ANY length of time, much less 12 hours. I have worn Dansko shoes for about 13 years if not more. When I received these shoes in the mail they were in the original box and wrapped perfectly. I immediately tried them on and felt the arch support and they fit perfect. I like them a little loose because it gives me the room I need for my feet to swell during the day without having to change my shoes during the day and they still stay comfortable and wearable. I have also found a sock I have been wearing for about a year... a little pricey but worth it, they last forever, even when washing in steam! They are called Bombas...I cant say enough about them! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2017I tried these on in a store before I purchased here so that I would be certain of my size. They fit as expected, but with the insole, are a bit snug. I removed the insole and they fit great, very roomy. These are meant for long periods of standing and not so much for extensive walking. I purchased them because as a third year medical student I spend a lot of time on my feet, especially in the OR where surgeries can run from 2 hours up to 9 hours. It's a sign of weakness to ask to sit, so we suck it up and stand as still as the surgeon needs. As you can imagine, that takes quite a toll on your back and knees. I used these for 8 weeks and found them to significantly reduce the strain on my back.
They're definitely not the prettiest of my shoes, but they're functional and sturdy. For the price, I consider it an investment piece that should last me at least the next 5 years of my training. Unless you've owned a pair of Danskos before, the sizing may surprise you so I would recommend trying these on in a physical store before committing to an online purchase. As for the details, the in-store associate suggested these oiled ones over the patent leather since she says they're easier to maintain - you just brush over any scratches or scruffles. This is true, but the patent one is definitely much more attractive and professional-looking. For the OR, no one cares what they look like, but for clinic, I wish I had purchased the patent leather pair.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2016This would have been my fifth pair of Dansko shoes. I understand the innate fit of the Dansko design; "clog" doesn't fit heel, etc. I read some reviews that said the shoe was too large. I read some that say it's too small. I bought this in the same size I have bought all previous Dansko shoes, plus I bought one size larger.
I'd like to start with the good stuff about Dansko. Quality! Every pair I've ever owned have had topnotch quality. This pair was no exception. The leather feels nice, the staples looked good, the whole shoe was immaculate. The XP Pro insole was amazing! I could definitely tell the difference (even with how little I wore them) between my basic pair and this one. It's a plus that the insole is removable too. Easy to clean. I know people joke these are "mom shoes", but I have always loved their style. The large toe box is also a plus for me; I like the wiggle room for the toesies. The arch support in these shoes is stellar. Unless it's a flip flop, I want arch support and Dansko always delivers that.
Sizing: The one size larger was a joke. I mean, clown shoes type fit (even with insole). They were returned immediately. My regular size felt a bit snug, but they seemed fine after wearing them around the house for a while. I attributed the snugness to the insole. For science, I removed the insole and they felt too large, but not clown shoe large. I feel wearing them without the insole defeats the purpose of the XP Pro though. I don't believe they are intended to have the insole removed while wearing.
Fit: I had read many reviews where it said this shoe didn't seem to need a "break-in period". But to break them in they have to be worn, right? Break in or no break in, I took them with me for the weekend. Planning to wear them around a convention; a little walking, a little standing, but mostly sitting to watch panels and such. I've owned many pairs, I know how they feel and how good my legs and back feel in them; the proper walking posture they instill. I figured no big deal. It was a big deal. I wore them for about three hours (total actual walking time was about 45 minutes, thin socks on) and something was not quite right. I had to get them off my feet. But I didn't have any other shoes with me at the convention, my other pair was at the hotel. Silly me, I was banking on the comfort I usually experience in these shoes. That was my mistake. Ultimately, I walked to a nearby shoe store and purchased a different pair of shoes to wear because the hotel was further than a shoe store. That's how bad it was. I had a blisters everywhere; toes, arch, outside of foot, even high up on the heel (which I think was from the rim because the heel fit seemed correct). Probably the most painful walk I've ever experienced was getting to that shoe store, foot-wise anyway, but my legs and back felt great! So at least there was that.
My regular size is 39. Size 40 was overly large. I can't guarantee that they would ever not cause blisters to my feet. I think if there was a 39.5 I would try them again, but I don't think Dansko has half-sizes; European whole sizes are all that are listed at their website. Unfortunately, and sadly, I returned this pair as well. I really love Dansko still. If I they ever make a 39.5 of the XP Pro, then you better believe I'll give it another shot. Until then, I'll stick to my trusty Dansko basics. I'm not holding my foot trauma against this brand by no means (only removed 1 star due to fit, though arguably the most important part). This pair just didn't work for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2024These are my go to work shoes. They are not the most attractive, but they are SO comfortable. They are extremely supportive and I do not feel like I have been standing as long as I have. If you have high arches, it might take a minute to break in the top part, but once your feet are used to it, it is definitely worth it. There is a reason nurses where this type of shoe! If you are standing for a long time, definitely give these a try. The thickness on the bottom is a game changer.

5.0 out of 5 stars
