This is a rugged case custom designed by Bobj for the Nexus 7 FHD 2013 Model Tablet. (Not for 1st generations 2012 Nexus 7) This stylish and high quality case provides more drop protection and shock absorption than typical skins or portfolio covers. The case allows easy use of all functions of your Nexus 7 FHD. Bobj cases offer great protection for busy Nexus Tablets, and your choice of many bright and business appropriate colors lets everyone easily identify their own Nexus. The case has been designed with Stereo Acoustic Speaker Chambers, which direct the sound toward the user, providing a pleasantly improved listening experience. my boyfriend picked this case out for his Nexus 7 second generation. He really likes it and it definitely helps protect the tablet itself. It's fairly thick so it makes holding very easy, and its wide enough so that if you drop it on its front the top of the tablet never actually touches the floor, screen doesnt get scratched. I liked it so much that I eventually bought it for my daughter as well, and it helps keep a tablet safe from even a 2 year old. it's not very great if you want to use it to store in your purse or whatever, because it is so bulky. but other than that I have no complaints.

    This is the best case for the Google Nexus tablet. We bought this as a gift for our daughter, and she loves it. It makes the small tablet easier to hold onto, with a nice grip due to the silicone construction and raised sides. All of the tablets features and buttons are accessible with the case, and the audio is nicely channeled from the rear/side speakers through to the front with no loss of sound quality. No loss of Wifi signal strength. She used her tablet for school, and I worry much less about drops with this case. She is a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, so the blue color is perfect. We highly recommend this case!

    We also ordered the AYL 7 inch Padded Neoprene case and her tablet fits inside WITH the Bobj rugged already on it. Why both? The Bobj silicone case protects during use, and the AYL case provides extra protection while in transit from classroom to classroom, especially with hard school floors and stairs. The AYL case also allows the user to stand the tablet horizontally or vertically.... I'll be writing a separate review for it.

    This is the third case I've gotten for my Nexus 7 2013 tablet. The first two were folding "wallet" type cases which don't wear particularly well for me since I use my tablet frequently. This case fits perfectly and makes it easy to handle the tablet in any setting.     After reading so many positive reviews, I decided to buy this case. Now I can see why it receives such a high rating. The design is simple -- it is a silicon case that provides a pretty good protection around the edges of a Nexus 7 and covers the back. I have tried using the device with and without the case. I have to say that it is easier to grip the Nexus 7 with the case on. If you are going to share your Nexus 7 with your kids, this case is a must-have.

    Use this case in conjunction with a Tablet Screen Protector film (to prevent scratches) and you got your Nexus pretty well covered.

    PS: It does seem to attract lot of dust with use. So far, I have cleaned it using a clean piece of cloth; which gets *most* of the dust off. I am yet to try soap and water like others have suggested to get it *fully* cleaned.

    I've waited a long time to buy a tablet and I chose the Nexus 7 2013. I wanted to make sure that my tablet was protected but not too bulky. I was really thinking about an Otterbox type case initially, but decided I didn't want to spend the money and try something else.

    This case is all rubberized silicone so it was easy to install. The extra padding around the edges is great for grip as well as protection from falls. There is enough space in case your tablet fell front first (I have a 2 year old, it passes that test). The case does not add much bulk to the tablet so it stays slender, the edges give it enough so it doesn't slip out of your hand. I also like that the openings for the speakers were made specifically to bring the sound from the back of the tablet to the front, which also make it sound louder.

    There are only two things that I can say are really cons about this case (which aren't really that bad). 1. the silicone of the speaker openings are thin, so I'm afraid with enough pulling or ware that they will eventually rip, especially the top opening. 2. because it is rubberized it still attracts a little bit of dust. Nothing too horrible but you do notice it. Just a rinse in water and its clean, but a con non the less.

    Overall this is a good case and I am happy with it. My tablet has has its falls and it is still as good as new.

Make sure and get a "sheet" screen protector if your worried about scratches or impacts to the screen, as this case protects all sides except the screen. As a bonus, I've found I can still charge the Nexus 7 (2013 version ) on aWireless Charger, eLander™ Ultra-Slim Wireless Charging Pad for Samsung S6 / S6 Edge, Nexus 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 (2013), Nokia Lumia 920, LG Optimus Vu2, HTC 8X / Droid DNA and All Qi-Enabled Devices wireless charger without removing this case.
