It’s built nicely. It’s still not all that easy to pull the bones out of my salmon. Really if you have a pair of needle nose pliers that would work better. But if not or you’re just looking for another kitchen gadget it does work. It’s way better than trying to do it with your fingers.
The durability of the item seems to hold up well, given I literally only use it for pulling the pin bones off of salmon. But I got it for the unique point on it, to grasp the pin bones, yet the point is the weakest spot. That is where I get the least amount of strength to pull, but the closer short end of the Engle tip is where I get the most strength from.
I used these fish bone tweezers on salmon. Easily pulled each small and large bone from the flesh. There is a learning curve in using them. You cannot squeeze them so tight when pulling the bone, that the bone breaks. Best to get a good grip on the bone and gently pull. Grips the bone very well and is a great quality gauge. Sturdy little buggers.
every time I purchase this item my "friends and coworkers" steal them from me. they are wonderful. I use to use needle nose pliers. so did my friends. now they use my Steel Fish Bone remover. I have ordered 15 of these. .
