This is supposed to be a nickel finish but the end caps (finials) are a completely different color than the rod itself. The end caps look nickel, but the rod is a dark gray, like a gun metal gray. If they matched, I'd keep it, but it's going back. So disappointed
Looks very nice and stays in place. It's been up for three months and no problems so far! Wish the price was a little lower -- there was a similar rod that we purchased a few years ago on Amazon for a lower price and it was just as nice, but it's no longer available. This one is still a decent value though.
The rod does its job but I do agree with previous reviews that the curtain gets a bit stuck at the expansion point. I do like the fact that no drilling is required and the end elements are nice looking.
The tension on the rod holds well, and it looks nice while feeling sturdy. I lopped off a star because after some minute scratches during installation small rust spots formed on the two ends after only a few months. I was really hoping this would not rust so easily since that is why i replaced the old one in the first place. If you are very careful and don't scratch it at all you will probably be fine but that is really hard to do if you periodically change out your shower liner and wash your curtain. Next time I will pay more for a rust proof model, but if you are happy with moderate quality this will do fine.
We have the Satin Nickel installed in a 48" opening... as solid/sturdy now as the day we installed it 5 months ago... sees a lot of use and not a single issue.
This rod looks nice but that is all. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or the design is crap but this rod WILL NOT STAY UP!!!!! making it useless would not buy again!!!!!! VERY UNHAPPY!!!!
Appears to be of decent quality, but I couldn't' keep it. All of my fixtures are brushed nickel. This is advertised as such, but it's just not. Anything i the brushed nickel/satin nickel family is fine, but this has a rod that is a bit darker than brushed nickel, which by itself is not the worst thing in the world....BUT the finials are more of a satin nickel, almost sprayed looking, while the rod is noticeable darker.
It just looks silly and I really don't know what Zenith was thinking.
I really wanted to keep it, as it is made in the US and the reviews are good, so if you can live with the contrasting colors, it's probably a decent rod.
For me, the color difference was too much.
I did try it and it does lock into place nicely and seems to hold firmly.
I bought this to update the look in the bathroom. I really like how it looks and it fits snugly onto the wall. The end caps slip off to slide on curtain rings. I purchased these shower curtain rings to go with it. Maytex Mills Metal Double Glide Shower Ring, Brushed Nickel, 12 Count The rod and rings look great together and I love how easily the rings slide on the roller balls. The regular metal rings scratched my old rod.
I ordered some products from InterDesign earlier and they were of a very good quality. So, initially I ordered 2 shower curtain rods from InterDesign as well. However, both of them came broken, though packaging was not damaged. Zenna Homerods, though more expensive, both were of perfect quality. On the photo you can see Zenna Home shower curtain rod with InterDesign hooks ( very good match, no complaints about the hooks).
