Klein must want your business, because I called the helpline several times about different instruments and testers, and You actually get a person to talk to without a five or six deep choice menu on the phone. Usually you get one of their techs to talk to that really know their products. I haven't been able to stump them yet. This thermometer is a little more usefull for the person that wants the temperature between two points as opposed to the averaged temperature of an immaginary circle arround a single point laser. It has all the features of the single point thermometers, it comes with a soft shell case which takes up less space than the hard cases. it uses two AAA batteries that are supplied, a switched backlight and the side by side twin laser points seem to be about an inch apart for every foot of distance away from the measure point. I found this better when tou are measuring the difference between air conditioner registers when you are adjusting room temperature of the air that your central air conditioner is producing, because you don't get the temperature of the celing around the register averaged in the measurement. It also has a front facing work light that you can turn on or off when you are working in dark places. As with all the thermomometers you can turn the lasers on or off. If you lose the instructions, there is a guide printed on the side that tells you the functions of the control buttons on the back, or you can download a PDF formatted instruction file from the Klein website. I have both the Klein Laser Thermometers but the twin laser modle has the button function guide printed on the meter and the forward facing worklight. They are the same size and use the same case and both use two AAA batteries supplied.
I looked at the Fluke line but couldn't justify the extra cost of rhe Fluke or some of the higher priced Thermometers. Put all this together with the Amazon Prime delivery and the Amazon Sadisfaction Guarantee, I can't afford to gamble and get it anywhere else.
