      It's moderately effective as a privacy screen, but the display brightness is drastically reduced. My phone's (non iPhone) privacy screen still allows for all the brightness even with (mostly) effective obfuscation. I don't use it anymore, probably should have returned it.

      Over the years it seems these privacy guards keep widening the viewing angles. This one will obscure actual text pretty well but it won’t mask the nature of what your viewing unless someone is a good five feet away. If you have Facebook open as an example, it would be obvious, though the text would not be readable. Same with viewing an image, it is obvious you are looking at a photo and likely obvious by form, of what you are viewing. This only provides marginal privacy on a plane etc where people are wedged next to you.

      I wish the viewing angle was a good bit narrower. Also my example was obviously not new and a repackage. The plastic bag was heat sealer resealed and the guard screen “this side out” indicator was missing.

      If you get one like this, place it over a printed page on a table and stand off to the side. Flip the screen over, whichever side up obscures the printed page the most is the correct outward facing surface.

      Surface feel for touch is quite good considering and I like the satin matte glare reducing finish.

      It only works if you hold your ipad vertically. If you make your ipad horizatally (which usually what we do when we use ipad to watch Youtube or movie apps), it does not work at all.

      I returned this product when I first purchased it years ago because it doesn’t work when the iPad is turned horizontally. So I recently purchased the 3M privacy shield for the iPad Air-Horizontal (on another site), and cut it down using a box cutter to fit my iPad mini 5. It now works as I hoped. If you want to use the privacy feature on the iPad Mini horizontally, then I suggest this alternative.

      3M Privacy Filter has the stickys that you put in the corner of the filter and I'm looking for something that I put on the IPAD and it sticks automatically. I have a Otter case and the IPAD would not fit because of the stickys that you have to put on all four corners.

      I did have some difficulty keeping it fixed but it is worth the trouble.

      Fits perfectly, fairly transparent, but not something I'd consider unless I had a real need for it.

      To be fair, you won't buy a privacy filter unless you need one, but this detracts from the looks and the straight on visibility of the the iPad. Attachment is by double sided tape,which is visible through the filter. It will prevent anyone reading your screen on the train, but it does dim the screen noticeably.

      If you need it for work, or require confidentiality, it does the job.

      This screen protector is more a privacy protector and was fiddly to fit as these things often are. Once done though it does actually work in terms of preventing people from having a greater field of view of your tablet. From this perspective the product works. The kicker is the cost. It is just too expensive for me to recommend outright. But if you are looking for this sort of privacy product, this may well be worth considering as it works.

      This is really useful for while travelling, or writing private emails or checking confidential current accounts in the company of others, and if I wasn't actually bothered about the superior qualities if my Retina screen in those circumstances, then this privacy filter although not perfect would provide me with extra confidence to go ahead rather than wait or find an empty room. I wouldn't keep it on all the time, the privacy filter darkens and obscures the magnificent features built into my ipad.

      I was expecting, particularly at this price, a permanent, invisibly fixed screen guard/privacy filter.

      this provides the privacy reasonably, but only by using clearly visible adhesive tabs which spoil the look of the device AND allow specks of dust to penetrate between the filter and screen over time.

      Given that there are aesthetically much more pleasing solutions available which do th job at least as well, i think this is awful and awfully expensive. I've thrown mine away.
