I was a little skeptical after seeing reviews about these having a cardboard backing. However, I was looking for a larger, frameless (as marker residue builds up next to the frame) and more stylish board to replace a Quartet white board on the side of my fridge. This hit the spot. Affordable, and the perfect size for a two-rowed shopping list or anything else. Also, it is worth noting that it is a metal overlay over moderately dense cardboard. I have had NO problems with the board bending at the center as I lean on it to write. Only thing is that oil from your hands or body creates slight smudges which seems typical of any board that is not boring white. This will not work with traditional dry erase markers so I ordered Quartet Neon Paint dry erase markers and they worked great. It comes with 4 mounting squares and they are Very Sticky! I would prob not mount this to a painted wall if you dont plan on repainting it afterwards or using some GooGone to remove it slowly. But I would highly recommend and would buy it again! And if I find a smaller one for a locker, I will end up buying it for my daughter.

    I've had this board for a few weeks and I've used it mostly for homework or a to-do list.

    So far I really like it, the black makes the neon show up really well and the frameless look is really cool. The clip for the marker is handy. The board wipes off really easily and fully, I just use a wash cloth and have had no issues so far.

    It does come with the marker in the picture. The only comment I have is that after using the marker for writing a bit the color begins to fade, this can easily be fixed by what I've dubbed charging the marker (pressing the tip down and using it until the color comes back). Other than that there are two very small dents on the board but you can't see them unless the light shines on them right, this is not an issue for me at all.

    This review might be a little in-depth for some people, but I find such analysis helpful when considering different products.

    Reason for purchase: I needed a Dry-erase board for quick reference/reminders while I worked on my computer. I wanted a medium-sized one that did not require anything other than the sticky pads to mount it. I placed it about 6-7 feet directly across the room from my usual computing place, ensuring that every time I looked up from my screen I would see the board.

    Arrival: The product arrived in a timely manner, with no dents or scratches. The plastic wrap around it was torn in two places, but I don't consider that to be a huge deal, since the product itself was unblemished.

    Quality: I read other reviews that said the board had a rough and uneven texture. I am pleased to report that mine is smooth and in perfect condition.
    However, after unwrapping it from the plastic and trying to stick the sticky-wall mounts to each of the four corners, I found that the main structure of the board is cardboard. It depressed when I pushed the stickies onto it, and I wasn't sure it would provide enough structure to stick it successfully to the wall. It is now sticking just fine, having been up for almost a day. I have written on it several times, and there seems to be no issue with how it's mounted.
    The marker: I was excited for the vibrant blue-on-black combination to add a little flare into my otherwise sparse environment. Unfortunately, while the marker writes perfectly well, the color is dull and almost impossible to read even from just 6-7 feet away. It reminds me of trying to use a light-blue crayon on black construction paper. You can see it if you're close, but from any distance, it's unreadable. I will invest in a set of Quartet markers from Wal-Mart (don't judge), but I wish the marker that came with it would work like it's supposed to/as advertised. Erasing the marker is very simple: just wipe. It sort of rolls off, leaving residue on your finger or cloth, but not on the board (or at least none on the board that I've noticed yet). It does not come with an eraser.
    The marker holder: It seems it does it's job a little too well. After mounting the board, I found it difficult to remove the marker. The holder didn't want to give it up. After finally getting it out, I have placed the marker on top of the holder when not in use, neglecting to push it down into it. It stays there just fine and I don't have to struggle to get it out every time I want to jot something down.
    The magnets: I haven't used them for anything yet, but they seem to hold very well to the board. I slid them around a little, rather than picking them up and placing them elsewhere, and didn't notice any scratching. I only did it a few times, so I'm not sure how that method will hold up over time.

    Overall: I think it's a decent product for what I paid ($11). I would be willing to pay more for a sturdier structure. The marker, however, due to it's decidedly not-vibrant color, is inadequate. I will be keeping the board, and will post later how the other markers work out.

    I bought two of these boards because I hate the look of white boards, but I can't stand the feel of chalk or the sound of chalk writing on chalkboards. I wasn't sure how well the marker would show up, but I took a shot b/c the price was right. Well worth it. Neon dry erase markers show up very bright and bold against the black. I do notice that when I erase there is a faint shadow, but all I need to do is rub over it a couple more times or use a wet cloth and it's good as new. They look great up on the wall - I framed the one in my kitchen just for the look, but the other I hung just as it is, and I'm really happy with it. Mounting tape is included, but I wasn't sure how well it would come off the wall down the road. I ended up using the 3M velcro strips to hang them instead. I plan to buy a couple more for my office.

    This purchase was a mess. First, it arrived damaged which I don't usually give poor ratings for (this is the risk you take with the mail, it's Amazon, return it for a new one right?) BUT every single corner of this board was scuffed, the board itself was bent in the middle (it didn't sit flat on a surface), and one of the adhesives that it comes with was ALREADY STUCK TO THE BOARD lol! The marker it came with didn't work well. I bought some chalk markers on Amazon as well and every time you want to wipe it off, the ink disintegrates into a thick dust. I was trying to use it to do practice problems and I could not use this at the library as the dust was everywhere. Just not practical for my purposes. The company doesn't accept returns, even if it's damaged. Amazon kindly refunded me the item and told me to discard it.
