This does exactly what it's supposed to do. There's nothing "special" about it compared to some foreign knock-off, though I do love the slick stick system 5.11 uses. But, I chose these because the name behind them and I use them in my squad for duty purposes. I don't use the elastic cord as I've found it just slides off over a short time. The flaps work as they should with a couple ways they can be stored. I keep them open top and short of flipping my squad upside down, the mags aren't coming out. The 5.11 pistol mag pouch can also be attached to the front of these if you're wanting to double deck. Excellent option to have

The build quality is perfect as always with 5.11 products. The only reason im giving it 4 stars is because of a minor problem i have. There are two ways to use this pouch. Either with a bungee cord or a flap that covers the mag. Now if you want to use the bungee cord, you tuck the flap in the pocket where the mag goes and that is fine. But the problem is the flap has a handle on it for easily opening it if we were to use the flap. That handle goes in the pocket as well. This handle is in the way when pushing the mag in, and if it gets caught when the magazine goes in, it feels like hitting the bottom of the pouch halfway. So you have to pull the mag out, get your finger in there, straigthen the handle, and try to push the mag in again...
Minor problem, but very good quality
