Merino sheep are an ancient breed that live in New Zealand's southern Alps. Regular sheep wouldn't make it up there. Their wool is breathable in warmer temperatures and insulating in cold. Energy-Concsious

We began by evaluating how we manufacture our base layer products. If there was an opportunity to be more efficient and less wasteful, we made a change. Energy efficient light fixtures in all our warehouses? Check. Reducing natural gas consumption to combat global warming? We did that, too. We even adjust the temperature in our offices after hours to conserve energy.

Recycling

Next, we examined the materials we use in the production of our products and how we manage waste. From the yarn leftover after manufacturing to the pallets we receive from suppliers, everything that can be recycled is recycled.

1% For the Planet

  • But it’s not enough to simply appreciate the environment. We also aim to protect it. Through a partnership with 1% for the Planet, ColdPruf will donate a portion of every purchase to select non-profit groups from a network of more than 3,000 approved environmental organizations worldwide.

ColdPruf Women's Tops are perfect worn on its own or as a base, mid, or outer layer. The Platinum two layer garment has been specifically engineered with our ColdPruf technology to trap air between the layers of fabric to provide a natural warmth shield. The Platinum offers the desired level of warmth and comfort in very cold to extremely cold weather during mid to high activity. Nature's natural warmth fiber, merino wool, blended with polyester on the outside and combined with CPT Performance Polyester on the inside, provides maximum warmth, dryness, and comfort and at the same time provides odor control on the fabric. The ColdPruf Base Layer product line has been developed for comfort in all cold weather environments, whether at home, on the job or enjoying the outdoors.

    So I like the material it is made from. It has stretch to it, but generally with base layered clothes, I like that feature. Based on reviews of the product I decided to go with my normal size (2xl). When I revived the product, the length for me was good (hip) the sleeve length is a little long (almost to the tip of my thumb with my arms straight down). It hugs my torso, but the arms are very loose fitting. It feels like it will be a warm product around my torso, but I am worried about my arms getting cold.

    I am going to keep it, and hope that with layering, I will be warm enough and not too much wind gets in.

Oddly enough, the matching bottoms are much larger than normal sizing, so I expected the tops to be the same and ordered a smaller size top than normal. But the top seems to be consistent with regular sizing. So, the bottom line is, order down a size or more in the bottoms, order your regular size in the tops.

    I bought two after reading the reviews. Very disappointed to see this top is more of an open, wide neck scoop neck, not the crew neck as the picture depicts. I need it for warmth layering this winter and that in itself, plus the fact that it is a wide scoop neck makes it unusable for my needs. I tried washing and drying it twice in the hopes it would shrink, but it's still too flowy and large for my needs this cold winter. Disappointed. I'm out over $40 and would not have ordered them if the photo clearly showed it was an open scoop neck top. Money wasted.

    it advertised as a good fit, this was anything but. I looked like I was auditioning for an 80s dance movie it was so boxy and slouchy. The neck hole was SO BIG I could almost make it a "off line shoulder". Totally inappropriate as a base layer, it would be all bunched up under my sweaters.
