Surprisingly decent quality for the price. I always prefer cotton to microfiber but this is nice and soft and has held up quite well. I haven’t noticed any weird stretching the way some microfiber seems to. The pillowcases have kept their shape, and the duvet cover has “broken in” with the duvet and they fit each other well.. how to describe this? When putting the cover back on the duvet, it kind of naturally falls back into place with a few shakes. It’s easier to put the cover back on the duvet with two people, but you can do it by yourself in a pinch.
The cover and pillowcases are nice and lightweight, but warm, soft and comfortable. Haven’t had a problem with wrinkling. The CalKing duvet cover fits just fine in our portable washing machine (though we do have the largest portable machine available, 2.4 cubic feet). Haven’t had a problem with the color fading, at least not noticeably.
The one thing that’s gone bad is the zipper. The zipper itself is fine, but the stitching attaching the zipper to the duvet cover has come loose on one side. It’s an easy fix if you’ve got one of those little sewing kits they give you at hotels. I spent way more time than I needed to sewing it up way more securely than it ever was or needed to be, but now it’s back to normal.
Can’t beat this one for the price. I’d probably buy this brand again next time I need a new one.
