FAQs

My original master cylinder leaked out of the back of the piston into the booster area. Why?

  • Check booster for a defective push rod seal. If this seal is bad, it could drain the brake fluid out of the master cylinder.

I replaced the master cylinder and now the pedal is high and hard. Why?

  • The master cylinder is working correctly. Check for a faulty brake booster or frozen wheel cylinder/caliper.

Bad Manufacturing!

Bad Manufacturing!
Very bad quality control. Burning debris in the reservoir from manufacturing. If I have not noticed this, these could have gone into my brake lines and calipers! Worst of all it has a tag on it "Inspected by: XX", Bravo!

    Works great

Well I was hoping this would be a good option for what has become a very expensive part to replace on my Sprite. All went well, installed fine and bled without issue; firm pedal and all brakes working correct. Revisit the car a week later to find fresh brake fluid running down the pedal, wipe it off and check the following week and find the same. Appears to be leaking..not happy!! I can't recommend this part - pony up for the correct trw/Lucas unit.

Do not fit flush like the OEM. It sits about an 1/8" from the surface, but it seem to work.
