MONROE QUICK-STRUT ASSEMBLIES
The first and only Quick-Strut. Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies are unmatched in quality, durability and fit. They simplify the installation process, including everything needed for strut replacement in a single, fully assembled unit with no need for a spring compressor.
Quick-Strut units feature high-quality steel, application-specific coil springs to restore ride height and strut rods which surpass the OE flexibility standard, maintaining structural integrity in the event of a major road impact.

Restore your car, light truck, SUV or CUV back to OE-quality ride performance and drivability with a Monroe Quick-Strut assembly. Including all the components required for strut replacement without the need for a spring compressor, this complete strut assembly features the strut, coil spring and strut mount preassembled for easy installation. Strut assemblies perform two main jobs: perform a damping function like shock absorbers and provide structural support for the vehicle suspension by supporting the spring and holding the tire in an aligned position.
CAUSES & CONSEQUENCES OF STRUT FAILURE
Like many parts on your vehicle, struts are subject to wear. The rate of wear depends on a wide range of variables, such as road and environmental conditions, your driving style and vehicle load. Causes of worn struts include damaged bushings, exposure to the elements, loss of oil viscosity and gradual degradation of internal components over time. Driving with worn struts can result in problems ranging from reduced braking efficiency, cause premature tire wear, loss of stability and damage to other suspension parts.
IMPORTANCE OF AN ALIGNMENT
Always perform an alignment anytime replacement shocks, struts or other ride control parts are installed. Camber, toe and caster settings can all be affected by installing new struts. Failure to make sure the vehicle’s alignment is within factory specifications can lead to problems like premature tire wear.
IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING RIDE HEIGHT
Proper ride height is crucial to vehicle durability, performance and safety. When inspecting a vehicle, don’t just check the static ride height. The dynamic ride height – the ride height of a vehicle in motion – may tell a different story. The cause of dynamic ride height issues is often worn or damaged coil springs. Don’t just replace the strut – be sure to also inspect for and replace worn coil springs.
HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL A STRUT ASSEMBLY
Avoid noise after installing a strut assembly with this four-step procedure.
- Loosely install 1 or 2 upper mounting nuts and position lower strut mount to steering knuckle assembly
- Install lower mounting bolts and lower vehicle to the ground
- Locate manufacturer torque specifications
- Torque lower bolts and secure upper mounting nuts in alternating pattern

- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2019Exact fit replacement for my 05 Altima. I think it raised the front end about an inch to an inch and a half. I hope it will settle a little and "relax" back into its origional position. Not really noticable, except to me. Easy to install with basic tools and a youtube video. She rides GREAT again! Would buy again.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019I've had these on for a lil while now and I can't complain. At least not yet, we'll see how long they last. In terms of ease of installation they're way quicker and easier than compressing your springs and putting it all together and all that. I personally like these loaded quick struts because lots of times your upper strut mount bearing is gone or in the process of failing anyhow. The cost of a new strut and new upper strut mount typically puts you in the same general price range as this setup. That being said I do have a couple of tips for Altima owners doing this themselves. First get the whole front end in the air. While it is possible to get your sway bar links off with only one side in the air it's next to impossible to get them back on with just one side in the air. Second, the 3 studs at top are not evenly spaced. There's only one way those studs will go up into your body so get them in, thread the nuts on part way, then turn the strut to proper position. Lastly, if you live in a northern climate where you're likely to see salt throw some anti-seize on the shaft of your strut to knuckle bolts that contact the aluminum knuckle. I wouldn't anti-seize the threads just the part that is in contact with the knuckle. Believe me you'll thank yourself later when you need to remove them again and don't have to sit there with a torch and air hammer for an hr mutilating a bolt that has corroded itself into your knuckle.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2015This item fit my 2006 Nissan Altima S. Easy to install. I believe it took me 30 minutes for each side. I believe it was only 5 bolts to loosen. There is a youtube video on how to do this. You will need a breaker bar and maybe some penetrating oil to loosen bolts if they are too hard to loosen. My bolts did not look rusted bc my car is mostly kept in the garage. You will need an alignment when you replace your struts. Check your outer and inner tie rods to make sure those are still working. I had to replace my inner tie rod.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2017Fit a 2006 Nissan Altima S 4 cylinder automatic perfectly. The installation is not that hard if you have the tools and can follow instructions. I found the instructions on Youtube. The struts ride stiff at first then they settle and the ride is back to normal.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2020Less than 40k on these struts and the passenger side is already blown. I have great vision day and night. They haven't blown because I failed to see a deep pothole and hit it at 60mph. They failed because they are of poor quality.
The car had factory struts last to 196k. Not going with these again. Monroe struts appear to be very poor quality and are not what they used to be. I will try another reputable brand in hope that they have better quality control. Hope this helps some so they don't make the same mistake.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018Worked great at first and then went bad after a year.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2018BEFORE YOU REPLACE WITH THESE STRUTS TAKE THIS ADVICE: Yes these are easy to install, but if you make these couple simple then the 2 upper bolts that mount to your wheel hub will not line up to allow insertion of the bolts. (1.) Make sure you have BOTH driver and passenger front of Altima on jack stand. (Not just the side your replacing.) This is because if your starting with Left or right side jacked up with the other wheel on the floor it causes a misalignment during install. (2) After removal of the original old strut and spring mount assembly, set your new Monroe next to your old assembly. You want to turn the 3 bolt top mount to match the old unit perfectly. This is because the top 3 bolt mount has a high and low side. These must be perfect before you install. ALSO: It's normal for these Monroe strut assembly's to have an additional row of coil spring vs the OEM strut and spring assembly. The overall length is the same. May I also add that I'm not sure why some people here posted that the ride of these units was not good... I found them to be "Not too stiff and not too soft." I think the performance and ride of these is the sweet spot. Get a pair. You will like them on your Altima.
