Good swimsuit, but not without (minor) flaws

Good swimsuit, but not without (minor) flaws
I bought this swimsuit for my 15 month old son for a week-long beach vacation. After having returned from the vacation, I have some thoughts regarding the swimsuit. 1. The suit fits as expected. My son wears an 18 month size in his clothes and wore the 18 month size in this. That being said, I'd get a larger size if you wanted them to wear it for more than just a little bit. The suit is also more like 3/4 sleeves and shorts. 2. The suit is easy to get in and out of. I had no problems with the zipper (mentioned in other reviews) and there are snaps along the bottom for easy diaper changes, even though I just used the zipper to be honest. The suit also dries ridiculously quickly. It would be mostly dry before getting back to the house from the beach. 3. The quality of the suit is okay. I got the print with the whale on it and after what I would consider minor wear, the whale design is starting to peel up. However, without it, the suit will still be cute, but if this bothers you, maybe get one of the striped ones. One of my few complaints. 4. I also can't get the sunscreen stains out of the darker sleeves. It is impossible to put sunscreen on a wiggly toddler without getting it everywhere. The sunscreen stains are still there after the suit being washed. I don't know if this problem is specific to this suit or if it is more a factor of the swimsuit material common to all suits. 5. I didn't have any problems with color fade and the suit has been to the beach multiple times and been washed twice. 6. The SPF portion of the suit I had no complaints with. Overall, a good, not great, suit that will serve you well for a season. *note* the picture of the peeling design looks like the color has faded - that is just the light and in person, is the same blue as in the beach picture.

This little bathing suit is great for my daughter. it's a little roomy width wise but not too much. The length is perfect. She is 13mos/23#'s and I ordered the med. I love that it provides the UV protection and I only have to worry about her forearms and calves for sunscreen. The little extra neck lining matches up with her hat so her neck is protected as well. It goes on & comes off easy (even when wet). Not to mention she looks super cute. :o) Now the other big factor was the cost. All the other infant/toddler bathing suits that were similar to this were running in the $35+ range. Hard for me to justify spending that much on a bathing suit she's only going to wear 1 summer. I will be buying this same brand for her next summer because I like it that much. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

    Size: 3TColor: Aqua StripeVerified Purchase
I've purchased this suit (Aqua stripe) several times over the past few years. I've also purchased many other rash guard and swim wear clothes from various companies and this one always comes out on top. I've used the infant, toddler and now the 3T and I love them. They are great for the beach or pool. They provide great coverage without being skin tight like many rash guards tend to be which make kids miserable esp. when wet. The one piece allows for for freedom of movement. (Swim shorts can be so constricting at the waist on chubby toddlers!) The zipper is high quality and perfect for avoiding the over-the-neck pull off struggle and the snaps allow for easy diaper changes and simple removal when wet. It is a great design. I think the aqua is a playful pattern and suitable for boys or girls. Fun summer colors without being too dark so it is cooler in the sun. Dries quickly when wet. I wish the sleeves were slightly longer but all in all I'd buy it in a 4T if it were available. My kids are sensory sensitive and happily wear these and they are adorable on waddling toddlers and now on my preschooler. We've gotten many compliments from other beach goers. I love that I don't have to use tons of sunscreen for my kid to enjoy the sun because with a good wide brimmed hat and this, most of the body is covered. Washes well in cold water, delicate and hang dry. The colors fade somewhat overtime but to be fair, we used them a LOT.

This is my favorite style of swimsuit for a baby and toddler. You don't need to use as much sunscreen for them since it covers so much skin, and it stays on them so well! Not to mention, it is so adorable :) This one does seem to run a little large, but it feels like a high-quality fabric that will last a long time, and while it's loose, it's not baggy, and is easy to get on and off my 15lb 4 month old.

We love this suit, it is bright, fits well and has snaps on the bottom to access the diaper area.

I bought a few suits from Amazon to try on my daughter. They generally all fit the same, however this suit had one major advantage, snaps on the bottom. At first I wasn't sure how important this was - however, I quickly realized it is critical.

When we take our daughter to the pool, we have to switch her into a swim diaper (which holds solids but does not absorb liquid). Since the swim diaper does not hold liquid, we have to wait until we get to the pool to put her in it. If there were no snaps on the bottom, we would have to keep her in regular clothes and then do a full change in the car at the pool (or in a bathroom). Also, after getting out of the pool, the snaps make it much easier to get the wet suit off of her and be able to change her diaper and put clothes on before heading home.

One minor wish - I wish the zipper had a little cover or something, I worry that it will flip up and scratch or poke our daughter in the neck. Otherwise, this suit is worth the price!

Great suit for a crawler/early walker!

Aside from the sun protection, the fabric protects my son's delicate skin from getting scraped on concrete/sand/etc at the water park or pool. Adorable design too, and fits better on my sons chunky tummy than the rash guard/shorts would.

Runs big, which was confusing as the iplay diapers run small. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars. If your kiddo is between sizes I'd go down.

    Happy swimming :)

UPDATE: We got two solid years out of this suit b/c we bought it a little big, and our son thinned out as he grew tall. It's our only suit, and kiddo is a waterbaby, so it gets year round use/abuse - daily over the summer. It's held up so great! And it looks so much more comfy than a rash guard or shorts. Diaper changes/potty trips are easy too, and it saves on sunscreen. Love this suit! Buying the next size.

This is the best one-piece swimsuit for toddlers and preschoolers both boys and girls.
We haven't seen a better swimsuit in any of the pools/classes we've been to.

See the attached size chart I found on the tag.
They tend to run slightly larger than listed here so plan accordingly.

    Pros:
    Comfortable and durable. Good sun protection;
Doesn't bunch up or ride up like boys two piece sets do.

    Cons:
The sizing is one size too big so plan for it.
The material is thin lycra - stretchy, attractive, and fast drying, but does not provide any insulation.
If you get cold easily even in a heated swimming pool, then look elsewhere for a thicker suit.

We used the XL (24 months) suit from 30 months until 48 months, roughly once a week.
After 18 months of weekly use, it started sagging and finally ripped.
As soon as he turned 4 years old, he's ready for the 3T suit.

Great cover up for baby. Good fit. I do wish zipper worked so that you could unzip it all the way but as it is with the diaper changing area snaps (which are good for quick diaper changes) you still have to put babies legs through the leg holes then zip up. But not a deal breaker. Really cute & soft on babies skin. Much easier than constantly pulling swim shirt down. I love the fact that it's a one piece.
