The product description is NOT correct. These are listed as being 97% cotton, and 3% spandex (which would be a stretch-denim like material). They are actually 97% POLYESTER and 3% spandex. Which means they are like slightly stretchy parachute pants. They feel slick to the touch, have no moisture absorbtion qualities, and feel like they should sound like "fffft fffft, fffft" when you walk. With that said, they are actually surprisingly comfortable and airy. So, while they are not at all what the product description says, they are actually pretty decent. I do really wish they would make these as 97% cotton & 3% spandex. Those would be amazing. Hint, hint. I also wish clothing purchases on Amazon were less of a gamble. There is no quality control when it comes to accuracy of listings.

    When these first arrived I almost sent them back. I did not like, what seemed to me, to be sort of stretchy thin material not at all in line with the more stout fabrics I've expected in Lee jeans of the past. Anyways, I kept them, I needed some shorts. I tempered my expectations and decided they would not be everyday beat around shorts but I'd use them as nicer, casual, no holes shorts.

    Since doing so, Ive worn them a few times in the summer heat. I've found them to be very comfortable & breathable. They are still nearly new, machine washed and dried a few times and show no discernable signs of wear.

    I can't say how they'll do under more rigorous tasks but the cool comfort scores more points than I thought I would be giving them.

    As I don't trust "Vine" reviews, I figured I'd share my thoughts on the shorts. I've been purchasing the "Wyoming" shorts from Lee for years now and I love them. The fit of these shorts is exactly like that of the Wyoming. The shorts are constructed of a material similar to some higher end Nike basketball shorts. The material is both light and flexible but has a nice rugged texture that gives me the impression they will hold up to some abuse. If this fails to be the case, I will edit this review. The waste band has a couple of elastic sections that will stretch if needed. It also has the typical belt loops and a snap button. The zipper is a bit less beefy than what you will find on the Wyoming shorts but does not feel cheap. The side pockets are deep and the cargo pockets are functional and utilize velcro to secure. These do not come with a belt. The only external branding is a small logo sewn into the right rear pocket (maybe a 1''x.5''). The inner rear waste band has an ironed on "Lee Dungarees" logo that you can't feel while wearing them. I purchased these shorts for work as an alternative to the Wyomings and feel they will do the trick.

    tldr; Fit and look like Wyoming Lee shorts but feel like athletic shorts. Would recommend.

    Well if appearances count you might not want to buy these. If comfort in high temperatures is important, and you aren't wandering around in public then these are great. My wife looks at them when I have them on and says, "they look cheap". Well heck they weren't expensive and if I'm going to be puttering around inside my unairconditioned garage and its 95F and humid, I don't much care if I won't grace a fashion catwalk with these things on.
