After reading some reviews expressing dissatisfaction on workmanship (holes not lining up, poor quality etc) I almost didn't order, but after all it is returnable. Well I am so happy I did. The manufacturer apparently paid attention to the complaints in the newer models with the slanted front. Holes line up perfectly, bolt threads fine and smooth, cushioned areas, while not the highest quality, are serviceable and sturdy enough and welds look good and smooth. I can only review on product I received and based upon that I would certainly recommend and would purchase another in a heartbeat!! Do yourself a favor and save money, buy this rest, you will be very happy you did!!

I was looking for a decent Shooting Rest, that did not break the bank. I'm left handed, so that was a major factor. The Guide Gear rest is Solid, Heavy Duty and Well Designed. It went together in minutes. Everything fit. The forearm rest is not top quality but is perfectly serviceable. The weight bag is in the center and held in place by the leveling bolts. It has an inner bag and an outer bag. the inner bag closes with velcro. I think I will either sew the inner bag shut or replace it with a garbage bag, tying it off on the end. either should work fine. I see no reason not to buy this product. It's built tough. I highly recommend it

Outstanding detail and quality product for use with all AR 15/AR10 weapon sizes. Many enhancements making this item way worth the price paid. As a solo worker of detail on AR15 parts, I was able to also put vinyl heating components on the gun while the device held the AR15 very steady.

I bought this rest over Caldwell due to the reviews. I'm think the people that review this rest were reviewing something totally different cuz this one is low quality. Welds are very week, one leg had stripped treads so I had to buy a tap to cut new ones, the butt stock mount clamp will cut/ dig into stock unless you add more cushion and to top it off it is wobbly so I picked the wrong rest. The Caldwell is more but built way better. My was stolen and this is no good replacement.

I purchased this mount to set up a pellet gun with a scope for picking off a specific little pest that has made a lot of holes in my yard and now I having a retaining wall slowly collapse because of all the holes borrowed. This held the gun very well with the option to add sand bag weights if needed. The unit is already heavy with out added weights. It did not move for me after a dozen shots and since I have to remove the gun after every shot to reload, that was important. Its welds on the frame are very solid and it's not a cumbersome unit to move around.

This item when you first get it needs to be adjusted while putting it together. If you can do that right this product will be as advertised. All of the bolts have to be threaded and maybe filed. You might have to drill out a hole or two but after that it locks the gun down and you can add plenty of weight to the sled. Why pay for a Coldwell when for $30 cheaper you can have this and have fun customizing it. Which we all do anyways.
Update: Now that I have used this product and recommended the changes that might have to be made this thing will will work as good or better than advertised.
