This heavyweight, hooded sweatshirt has a zip front for fast layering. It's made of 13-ounce, 80-percent cotton / 20-percent polyester fabric and has a rain defender durable water-repellent finish. Quality hoodie and well made!
Spoiler alert! The only con is it is loose fit. I wear large and was relived I got a medium, it fits like a large. 10/10 on everything else! It is made of tough material on the outer shell which is also water resistant, I haven’t worked in it all day in the rain but for walking through rain it is great. The zippers are the best part, they are industrial grade and feel like they could handle serious stress. All in all a great hoody!

    I never thought I would pay this much for a sweatshirt but this one is worth the money. Extra heavyweight and very warm. Fit is excellent. Runs a little big but that is good. I think Carhartt makes excellent products. I have many shirts and buy their products all the time. You get what you pay for. This sweatshirt costs twice as much as others but worth it.

    I have a lot of hoodies but this is my new favorite. It's thicker and warmer than most hoodies, well made. The elastic parts are thicker than most so I'd expect that to last a lot longer. So far the most rain it's seen is a light sprinkle but the water didn't soak in like it does most hoodies. My coworker who recommended this hoodie said it's not waterproof but it will get you through a light rain or a little while in heavy rain. Thats good for me, i just need it to give me time to walk across a parking lot to my car. I'm a new fan of carhartt and so far everything I've gotten from the brand has been good quality
    Edit - I've worn it in heavier rain now and it did really good, again not waterproof but more resistant than i expected.

With an under hoodie or thermals, this jacket keeps me warm down into the 30's. I have to say that I love this jacket and hoodie and am buying another in another color for the sake of selection.     I'm a medium build, ordered a medium fit, but got a large fit but that is good in my mind... can layer! Outside or Inside.
    The elastic waist and wrist bands are tight...as they should be.
    Metal zipper and tiple stitched seems on the pockets, maybe everywhere.
    I guess for your climate, it's definitely meant northern.
    I had a hoodie 30 years ago. None of my co-workers could figure out why I could stand the cold being so litely dressed for the temps and still be able to move....I've found it!!
