    Works well as advertised. Best option for this type of mounting. I have used this phone case for several months now and don't plan to look for anything else. Works as advertised. Wife likes it as well. The only draw back is that when a hard bump is hit while driving, the phone will tilt down a bit, not much of an issue considering how the mechanism works. I like it, a lot.

    2. Case is not for protecting your phone!!!! You would be better off buying just the steelie magnetic mount for the phone and adhering it to an otter box or pelican or some other quality case in order to have the best of both worlds!

    You be the judge...

    Purchased this product for a long-distance car trip, and with the plan to use it as a navigation aide with using a 4 month-old iPhone 6 in good working order.

    About 7 months ago.

    After seven days, I noticed the phone was acting erratically. It would spontaneously re-boot. It had other issues, but that's what I remember after almost a year. I took it to the Apple Store, they declared it hardware-defective and gave me a replacement (new) iPhone 6.

    The replacement iPhone worked fine until....

    This month, a second long road trip with the replacement iPhone and the Steelie product. After 5 days of 5-6 hour/day of driving, the replacement unit began to fail, this time, the issues were the following:

    --Touch screen was non-responsive on start up and occasionally during use. Re-boot did not help this situation. After 5-15 minutes, the iPhone screen would be responsive, but the unit would spontaneously boot up any app that was running prior to shut-down. Since we don't actually 'close' apps when we shut down a phone, the unit launched email, phone, contacts, podcasts, google maps, just about anything I had used in the preceding day.

    --Once again, I present myself the Apple store and again they diagnose a hardware/firmware issue, and issue a second replacement phone (now on my 3d i-6).

    To be clear, I was driving for 5-6 hours per day, with the unit mounted on vent, vent running cold air, the iPhone was kept on Google maps for navigation, with occasional phone calls, a Podcast or two, and weather checks. No videos were launched, or other high-bit-rate apps. The phone back was warm to touch, but never shut down due to overheating, or alarmed for overheat. Neither of these phones were subjected to unusual use, drops, immersions, etc.

    Now, I could be an unlucky guy with iPhones, but I think two failures after using this mount, with intervening good performance by the phone, when not mounted is telling me something.

    What I've also learned is Apple has pretty generous customer support staff and replacement polices.
