Love this concert so much it deserves a bilingual review:
I'm a Yank but spent four months in Ponce in 2001. So sorry I never got to see Fiel a la Vega in person. This concert is absolutely incredible. So full of energy, and Fiel a la Vega's lyrics are so wonderful. It's one of those bands that never became an international hit, but despite that they have left a wonderful collection of music with intelligent lyrics. Patriotic without being nationalistic; cultured without falling into contradiction; solidary without falling into redistributionism; and always praising the value of one's own effort. I hope they get together for another CD.
Soy yanqui pero pasé cuatro meses en Ponce. Lamento mucho no haber podido ver a Fiel a la Vega en persona. Este recital es realmente increíble. Tan lleno de energía, y la letra de Fiel a la Vega es espectacular. Una de esas bandas que nunca logró despegarse internacionalmente, pero sin embargo dejó una buena colección de música con letra inteligente. Patriota sin caer en el nacionalismo; culto sin caer en contradicción; solidario sin caer en el redistribucionismo; y siempre destacando el valor del esfuerzo propio. Ojalá se vuelvan a juntar algún día para otro CD.
Por último quiero mandar un gran saludo a la isla. Lamento muchísimo lo que está pasando en Puerto Rico tras el paso del huracán María. Fuerza PR, y ¡para adelante! Latinoamérica nunca será unida sin Uds.
