The trail camera arrived with a broken latch. I was about to return it and noticed the 800 number inside the front panel (hard to miss). I called and was shocked when a human answered and quickly took my address, asked about the memory card I was using, and shipped me a new latch with no charge and no hassle. I received it and installed it in about 15 seconds. Turns out the memory card I purchased was too big as well (there is a size cap at 32GB). The phone call helped me get everything I needed quickly and easily.
I was worried from the description that I wouldn't have any way to mount it (or would need to use bungee cords or something). Turns out, the camera comes with a strap and clip that make it a breeze to mount. My little one and I headed out to the back edge of the property and set it up in a minute. Ran through the on screen menus and mounted it. There is a handy "detect motion" sensor that's easy to use. My daughter loved jumping up and down "being a deer".
The only confusing part was that there isn't an obvious "go" button or something. You just return to the home screen and it gives you a 30 second countdown. After that, it's recording. I managed to get one extreme closeup of our faces while we were messing with the screen. After returning to the home screen a second time, we walked off. Came back a few days later and had a couple amazing quality videos.
I would highly recommend this device. The images and videos are in great quality (with sound). Even in dense trees late at night with a new moon, quality was crisp and sharp with great sound out at about 20 feet (that's the only night time video I have so far). Had a few strong thunderstorms roll through and a strong snow storm (gotta love the midwest in Feb): no false positives AND no problems with the included strap or camera itself.
Great buy. I'd buy it again tomorrow. If I need a second camera, I'll start with this one.
