Description
The element back plate holds a fixed charge and has been aged to provide energy stabilization. The surface of the back plate is precision milled to ensure maximum charge linearity, resulting in a reduction in both frequency response peaks and diaphragm breakup distortion. This Audio-Technica pack also includes 2 stand clamps, 2 windscreens, and a protective vinyl storage case.
Requires phantom power.

Features
- Two AT4041 cardioid condenser microphones
- Two AT8405a stand clamps
- Two AT8159 windscreens
- Protective vinyl storage case
- Smooth, extended frequency response with a slight rise occurring in the high-frequency region
- Ideal for drum overheads, acoustic guitar, piano, horns and under snare
- Low-mass diaphragm improves transient response, increases response bandwidth and reduces handling and mechanical noise transfer
- Transformerless circuitry virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion and provides superior correlation of high-speed transients

I have been using SDC (Small Diaphragm Condenser) mics for decades, Audio-Technica's and mics from other manufacturers. These hold up to any I have used in terms of sound quality, build quality and ease of use. Highly recommended.

Behind a good large diaphragm condenser, and a couple of SM 57s, I consider these mics to be required components of a well-equiped home studio. For my purposes, (woodwind recording) they're superior to my AT 4040 condenser mic in their ability to handle the higher SPLs that saxophones can generate without distorting. They're presented with the standard Audio-Technica attractive wood box and stand clips.
