Bought this to replace a cheaper model that was top heavy and prone to tipping over. The Gator model is very sturdy and works great.
Everybody was impressed by first look. Steady and durable.

I was particular about the stand I was looking for and it had to be very stable. This stand impressed.Me as soon as I took it out of the box. This stand folds up nicely and sits on the floor perfect. I use a BK7M and have it attached to this stand. I am very pleased with the stand.

I have received a second stand after returning the first one as the front cam came off the rod it was attached to. The second one does the same. I will fix this myself as I like the stand overall. As a drummer, I have attached a gooseneck to it and it doesn't like the extra weight. I've attached a 5lb ankle weight to the base and that has helped to stabilize it. It folds up nice and compact and fits in my hardware bag.
Problem with the ez close cam

The module that holds the ez close cam slipped off the rail after one gig. I was also hopIng the legs would be more stable. As a drummer, I require the boom to be over my head. With the goose neck I attached to it made the stand unstable. I'm returning it because of the cam problem but will get another and add some ankle weights to try and try to make it more stable. I do love the compactness. It fits great in my hardware case and is very lightweight. I can't recommend it for a drummer, but for everyone else, it's great.
Perfect for Studio. Not for outdoor/bars.

It was dented when it arrived so it made me question if it would be best for the mobile live sound application that I will need it for. I actually returned it because of this. I'm sure this would be great for a home studio but not for the way musicians and I treat my stands.
