Cobalt Introduction

Description
These innovative strings are constructed from Ernie Ball's proprietary cobalt alloy to provide guitarists with unparalleled tone, power, and longevity. The cobalt material optimizes magnetic properties to produce high output, robust low end, articulate mids, and crisp highs when paired with standard electric guitar pickups. Guitarists will experience vastly improved sustain, harmonic complexity, and dynamic range.
Cobalt Construction Maximizes Sonic Potential
Ernie Ball's cobalt alloy is the most magnetically active string material available, enabling vastly stronger magnetic coupling with pickups. This results in higher signal transfer and a wider range of tones with greater definition. The cobalt strings' special blend of cobalt and iron allows for an ideal balance of flexibility and strength, reducing premature string breakage while facilitating comfortable playability.
Hybrid Gage Set Provides Balanced Tension and Tone
The 2715 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom set combines lighter gauges on the treble strings with heavier gauges on the bass strings to produce balanced tension and a wide spectrum of tones. The lighter treble strings allow for easier bending and soloing, while the heavier bass strings provide full, punchy low end. This combination suits guitarists seeking the benefits of both lighter and heavier string sets in one balanced hybrid gauge.
Built to Strict Tolerances for Consistent Quality

Hail Sustian!
Picked up these strings from a local GC the day I got the email that they had finally come on sale. Grabbed up 2 sets for both my lead guitarist and myself and went quickly to work. Both being Elixir guys we were a bit worried we were going to lose some clarity. The moment of truth, we fired up the Tubes and began to tremble and giggle like little kids with the all out roar of these strings. The lows were absolutely ruthless for both lead and rhythm. Playing most of our stuff in Drop C# the heavy tops sounded beefier than I had ever heard. After blasting through every heavy rift we could imagine we started to do some dueling leads and found these strings to be very precise and have great tonal quality in the highs. They do sound brighter than the Elixirs we use to use but defiantly have a different feel. I?ve used Elixirs for about 10 years now so the feel isn?t something I can really comment on comparison wise. They don?t feel bad that?s for sure but comparing coated and non coated strings doesn?t make sense of course they feel different. The biggest thing I noticed was at the end of the song we let it ring, after waiting to see if these strings would ever stop we started to play with the harmonics that are claimed to be above average in the info from EB. Just a fair warning if you start to play with the harmonics be ready to spend a few hours working these newly discovered harmonics into your songs. We could get harmonics anywhere we tried. My overall impression of the string is pure amazement. They sound so brutal and crisp on my LP (Classic 57s) and the same goes for his RR3 (SD Blackouts). If you are looking to step out of the box and try something new these are the way to go. The sizes on this particular set of strings are great for us Metal head that like to drop tune. The price is completely worth the amount of the tonal rampage you will feel when you fire these up. Enjoy!

Too Happy & Bright for my needs
I have 4 Guitar's that I use Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom's on ,So I thought I would try these Cobalt's Out seeing I LOVE the Pink Pack Cobolts that I use on all other guitars (Switched from Nickel Pink Pack) Anywho I only bought one pack of these to try 1st & I'm thankfull as all get out I didnt buy four packs & do a complete change over of all four. 2 Guitars I use have 440 tunning but with the Low E is Down to D ,On the other 2 the tunning goes B,F#,B,E,G#,C# ,After messing with both tunning for more than a day I gave up & Changed back over to the Nickel wound Set ,I must admit I was bummed out I wanted these to work, They fealing of them are are over the moon sweat !!! But my sound didnt get the results like I did with the Pink Pack Cobalt I truley beleive its only because of my tunning in 440 all the way they are a blast though you will be impressed playing with tubes

So after being out of playing electric for a long time, here I am and these are the strings I went went with. I like them because I like heavier gauge strings, I do wish they were a bit brighter but I'm sure there are options for that
These strings rock!

Use these on all my guitars now (single coils and humbuckers), really bring out the brightness and, of course, volume. Highly recommended for all scenarios, practice, studio, and stage. Wear well, reasonably priced, and feel just right in terms of smooth v course. Look out for offers from Guitar Center, and buy in bulk!
I liked the regular Slinkys, but these are next level

Nice bright but balanced, full sound. Wear well, no breakages after a month of heavy bending. I'll be putting these on all my guitars from now on.
Pretty impressed

I usually get the normal Slinkys, so I'm already a fan. These definitely last longer and have more punch. I'm sold.
