Sturdiest Music Stand Around

I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that it is no wonder schools purchase these music stands. This one from Manhasset is solid and sturdy, as expected. Assembly was easy, but I did find unscrewing the bottom bolt from the stand difficult--had to get some man hands to do that. Other than that, it's the same superb stand I've used for years. And, yes, I fell in love with Manhasset music stands back in public school. Nothing flimsy here: three-prong stand that is well balanced; wide enough tray for two pages and for pencils and erasers; adjustable for sitting or standing musicians. It is heavier than a travel stand, but I find travel stands to be flimsy in general. I'd rather unscrew this stand and travel with the weight--not easy, but it still would be worth it--than to use one of those annoying wire stands. Also, this stand works well with a reading light clipped to the top of it.

Disappointing

I was hoping it would easily disassemble for transport, but it does not.

There is a reason Manhasset has been around for the decades they have been. This is a sturdy, reliable, well built, stand. Although a little pricey, in my opinion, it outlines the competition greatly. Easy to adjust, not very sexy, but there's something to be said about something that is perfect and it's form and function.

I have used Manhasset stands as a young band student and now as an amateur adult musician - their stands are unbeatable! I bought a stand (a different brand) a couple of years ago and was very disappointed with it. I should have just saved my money for a Manhasset stand then.

Works great and easy to use. Light weight. I like the size. There are a few plastic parts that dont seem high quality but it works great so we will see how it lasts.

Does the stand hold an open book or magazine? Also, what do I have to do specifically on the stand to turn the pages? (I have arthritis.) Thank you.

    1) That would depend on its's thickness. It meant for individual sheets. The lip is a bit over an inch. 2) I don't understand the question. Nothing specific is required to turn a page.
