Ernie Ball: String Alloys - Acoustic Earthwood Phosphor Bronze

Description
Crafted for acoustic guitarists seeking a warm yet defined tone, these phosphor bronze strings provide a balanced frequency range ideal for live performances and studio recording. The hexagonal steel core is tin-plated for durability and corrosion resistance, wrapped in phosphor bronze alloy for a mellow tone with excellent note separation. Available in gauges .011, .015, .022, .030, .042, and .052, the 2148 Earthwood strings have a lighter tension that facilitates comfortable playing while producing full-bodied tones with crisp trebles.
Phosphor Bronze Wrap for a Distinctive Tone
The phosphor bronze wrap wire gives the 2148 Earthwood strings their signature tone—rich and resonant while still articulate. Phosphor bronze produces harmonically complex overtones that enhance your acoustic guitar's natural timbre. Despite the warmth, notes ring out with clarity so every chord and melody is heard. The phosphor bronze also helps reduce finger squeak, allowing for confident, fluid playing.
Hexagonal Steel Core for Pitch Stability
At the heart of the 2148 Earthwood strings is a hexagonal steel core wire that provides outstanding pitch stability and longevity. The hexagonal shape gives more surface area for the wrap wire to adhere to, creating a stronger bond that helps keep the strings in tune through dynamic playing styles and environmental changes. The tin plating on the steel also deters corrosion, enabling the strings to stay fresh longer.
Lighter Tension for Playing Comfort
With a lighter gauge and tension, the 2148 Earthwood strings allow for comfortable, low-fatigue playing. The lower tension requires less effort to fret notes and strum chords, making extended practice or performance sessions easier on the hands and fingers. Despite the lighter feel, the strings still produce a full tone with balanced volume and sustain. The combination of warm, resonant tone and effortless playability gives acoustic guitarists an inspiring set of strings for crafting melodies and accompaniments.
Trusted Quality and Freshness
As with all Ernie Ball strings, the 2148 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings are made from the finest raw materials and sealed to ensure maximum freshness and shelf life. Ernie Ball is dedicated to producing high-quality strings trusted by musicians worldwide.

I would buy this product again and again
The Earthwood Ernie Ball 11's strings were recommend to me by a very good friend who is a great musician and also by my guitar instructor. I absolutely love them on my Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic/Electric these are relatively light and easy (for me) to get some bends on as I like to take rock and metal songs and make them into an acoustic version. I also purchased the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10's for Kramer Focus V2S11S electric guitar. These are light and gives and gives a great sound to the Kramer guitar.

Not Impressed-Better options out there
Decided to try these due to the price point. I have used Elixir Nanowebs for years but these were half the price. Expectations were fairly optimistic, but overall, I was disappointed. The E,A,and D strings were very dull right out of the pack on a mid-priced Yamaha acoustic concert style guitar. Would not describe the sound as "warm" which is what you get out of most Phos/Bronze strings. Much better options out there which offer better tone and playability. I am only giving it 2 stars for the price point-not playability.

A very warm sounding string. They come in different sizes and combination of sizes. What I mean bass strings can be a bit heavier and top strings a little lighter if you prefer.

They not only sound great and crisp. They look good too. Brings out the colors of the guitar. Best of both worlds.

I bought 2 sets of strings. One for my acoustic and one for my electric. The Ernie Ball Earthwood light strings (11's) have such a bright and resonating tone on my Epiphone Hummingbird. The Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (10's) on my Kramer guitar are awesome. Very light easy bends and pull offs. Highly recommend these strings. #sweepstakes

I've been using Ernie ball strings for 50 years on my telecasters and Les Paul, this is the first time I've tried their acoustic strings -- did not disappoint.
