D'Addario

collapse expand iconDescription

The DAddario 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap is an innovative strap that utilizes a patented locking mechanism to ensure your guitar stays exactly where you want it during any performance or practice session. The Planet Lock system is designed to attach to your guitar's existing end pins, so no hardware changes are required. You can use the same high-quality strap with multiple guitars, and the heavy-duty polypropylene webbing is built to last through years of regular use.

Patented Planet Lock System for Unparalleled Security

Thanks to the patented Planet Lock design, this strap fits virtually any guitar and remains locked in place until you manually release the side pin. Unlike typical strap locking systems that can loosen over time, the Planet Lock securely grips your guitar's end pins to prevent slipping, sliding or drooping. Your instrument will stay right where you put it, allowing you to focus on your performance instead of fussing with your strap.

Durable, Adjustable and Interchangeable

Constructed from high-grade 50mm polypropylene webbing, the DAddario Planet Lock strap is built to withstand the rigors of regular use without damage or wear. The strap length is fully adjustable from 43" to 59", accommodating guitars of all sizes. Since the Planet Lock system attaches to your guitar's end pins, you can easily swap the same strap between different instruments. Keep a strap for each of your guitars or share one strap among many.

Cheap does not mean low quality

I picked up this strap at my local GC a few months ago. I've used it several times times on stage (I'm a worship leader) and it hasn't failed me yet. I've used it with a few types of electric guitars and it fits great! I generally wear my guitar kinda low too. My only problems have been when I used it with my SG because of the placement of the strap pegs. The only difference with the SG is that you'll have a slight twist in the strap, but hey, it's an all black strap so no one will even notice! (Worked great with my Tele though)All in all this a great deal! I wouldn't recomend it if all you own is an SG though.

Don't buy for Les Pauls.

I've had this strap for about a year. I've been using it on my 2013 Gibson Les Paul Standard. I bought it because I didn't want to put strap locks on my new LP. The first thing I noticed when I put the strap on is that the LP's strap buttons are slightly smaller than my other guitars, but after testing it a bit I felt comfortable to leave it on. The strap has a softer, rubbery material that sits against the guitar where it connects to the strap buttons on the guitar. It began to rub on the guitar after a month or two, which left dark marks on my guitar as well as slowly wearing out the strap. On top of that I was playing recently and the lock on the strap popped off and I just barely caught the guitar. After some inspection the strap itself is cracked and broken. Overall, I liked the strap pretty well, but after a few months it began to tear up. Don't suggest this for Les Pauls. I'll post the pictures of my strap and the problems with it on the item page as well.

This strap locks onto the guitar so that you can make sure you don't drop your instrument. I love this strap because I know that I won't be able to drop my brand new guitar as easily.

The sliding and invisible locking mechanism is good. It kinda locks in place the strap end. Very easy to operate. It might not be suitable for all guitars because the rigid end may rub against the guitar body with certain angled mounts. I didn't notice if they were available with a padded strap.

It's always scary using a conventional strap because sometimes the instrument can just slip off. My favorite bass is safe and secure with this lock strap and I feel much more confident to move and double on keybass when performing. #sweepstakes

I purchased this guitar strap after my previous one was periodically slipping off the knob on my guitar. This one seems to work a lot better and have more stability with the locking mechanism. Relatively easy to set up as well on the guitar. I appreciate this product being available.
