Great pair of brushes.

These things are LOUD. It's very easy to get a good tone out of them, and you don't have to work hard to achieve enough volume to play forte with a full big band without a microphone. The only negative I've found is that since the brushes do speak, they showcase every mistake you make. I wouldn't recommend them for a light combo gig, but if you're looking for a 'beefier' brush, look no further.

Damages your cymbals

I bought these to get a little more defintion on the cymbals over the plastic brushes I had been using for years. They did this a promised however they also left tiny scraches on all the cymbals. I was not playing hard and certainly was not playing hard enough for the ends to come off. I ended up sniping them off and after that they were a great pair of brushes. I would not recomend this model epscally if you keep your cymbals clean.

I use these brushes with multiple music group and they work excellent for concert band, orchestra work and jazz musical groups as well. They give a very smooth, rich clean sound. I love them. My go to brushes.

The Vic Firth brushes( Steve Gadd) are the best. They are excellent and work so well in multiple styles and musical group.I've been using them for several years. And they always work very well, no matter the ensembles whether it be big band, jazz combo, concert band, wind ensemble or an orchestra. I love them.

These brushes do what normal brushes do, but they give more volume and a stronger attack on cymbals.

I've been overall very happy with these brushes, as they have stood up to a more rigorous style of playing (i.e. consistent rim shots on the snare and toms) than more traditional jazz style playing, for example. With some heavier hitting, the shafts of the brushes are susceptible to bend somewhat, but this is nothing that can't be corrected either by bending them back using your hand strength or by flipping them over to straighten them by playing that way. They feel comfortable, stay locked into place with the "zig-zag" design on the retractable rod on the rear end of the brush, and also look super cool in my stick bag with an otherwise mostly grey-tone, natural wood, and white colored aesthetic. The rubber is also very durable and has shown remarkable resilience to heavier playing. And the beaded ends give me the louder sound I was looking for in a pair of brushes to project better into the room (although I did lose one bead almost right away after initially playing with them).

  • Love these brushes

I use these on a washboard and the sound cuts through so much better than standard drum brushes. I really love the sound! So much more durable too.
