Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Customers find the mousse effective and appreciate its hold strength, with one mentioning it maintains its foamy shape well. They like it for curly hair.
Though this product is no longer made by Clairol, it is still the best mousse I've ever used and have been using for over 15 years. This product doesn't leave flakes when it dries or any extra residue, which other brands always tend to do that I've tried. There might be other, more expensive mousses that perform as I desire, but I don't want to waste my money when this $2-3 model does all I need it to. I prefer the extra-hold variety to the maximum hold, as the hold strength is good enough for me without being over powering. I initially bought the product at Costco, and though they eventually stopped carrying it I was hooked so I would buy it at Walmart. They too stopped carrying it, I think after Clairol sold the recipe, so now I have to get it online, or when I'm lucky, one of my local drug stores has it. Try it, you won't be disappointed!
I have been looking for this product for at least 6 months and had no luck. I have been using it for years and was so disappointed. I called the number on my old canister and they told me that Amazon handled it. I was so excited that I ordered 5. My hair is beautiful again - even at 81!!!!
So I really liked this mousse a lot because it did help with volume and didn't leave any stickiness or dryness! BUT after reaching @ the remaining 1/4 left in the can, the contents went flat and runny. So I feel like that much was wasted. Now I just checked the ingredients and there are two chemicals in it that contain DEA, which is a skin irritant, and can be carcinogenic when combined with other ingredients. (That might explain the scalp eruptions I've been having!)
This is only mousse I've found that holds its foamy shape when you rub your hands together before applying it. Others just kind of collapse into nothing. It can be hard to find, though. Thanks to Amazon's reach!
