I do not recommend buying any of the Briggs & Riley light weight bags
I have several B & R luggage pieces that I purchased over time since 1998. They were made heavier then. B & R came out with a light weight line since airlines put stricter restrictions on baggage weight. I purchased this bag as my first replacement of my older bags. This bag expands much like the older version expands, however the older version has a zipper that you need to unzip to expand it. This version does not have a zipper that secures the bag all the way around it. It has latch system on the inside of the bag only on the two short sides of the bag. When the bag is picked up by the handle on the long side of the bag, and the bag at capacity in the unexpanded state the bag sags and unfolds along the fold where it's suppose to expand. To avoid this I have to now use a strap to keep the bag from unfolding at the expansion fold. This new light weight version of the B & R luggage has been poorly designed and I don't plan on getting any other replacements from this company. I spoke with the company about this problem, sent them photos, and they said there is no flaw in the design.
