    I really love the feel of this lotion. It is light and definitely leaves me feeling moisturized. I also love the smell of grapefruit and have many grapefruit products. Although I admire the Hugo brand, this lotion is only so-so for me. The smell is very sweet, almost like candy. I feel like it is a smell I would have liked a lot in middle school, but not seems a bit "young" for me.

    I loved the original ingredients! The lotion came in a 12 ounce bottle, was wonderfully moisturizing and the ingredients did not come from a lab. It was the answer to a long search for an excellent product at a reasonable price. Then Hugo Naturals took on a dark partner, the private equity firm Manhattan Growth Partners and the private equity arm of the Matthew Pritzker Company, LLC. "Growth and Productivity" became the goal. The old bottle used to say "You want soft skin, but you don't want it so badly that you're willing to strip the earth's resources to get it..." an obviously virtue based ideal...gone, taken over by GREED! Now you get 8 ounces and the first three ingredients are: WATER, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERYL STEARATE SE. Then jojoba oil. The fifth through ninth ingredients are GLYCERINE, CETYL ALCOHOL, STEARYL ALCOHOL, EMULSIFYING WAX AND CETEARYL GLUCOSIDE. My point is that the old ingredients only had three laboratory type ingredients and they were all way down towards the bottom of the list, meaning the lotion contained much smaller amounts of these chemical ingredients. SO MR. AND MRS. HUGO, ENJOY YOUR GREED, before it bites you in the pants. You have lost me as a customer!

I am quite sad to learn from my local store that the company is no longer producing this product but so grateful to have found what must be the last of the supply on Amazon. Thank you!

    Good seller and packaging of product and stuff. I wasn't familiar with this and wanted a less pricey alternative to La Vanile. It is not that. The smell is absolutely unbearable. I may decant the whole thing and try adding essential oils of lemon and lavender to it and see if I can stand it. I had to slather on a scented body oil and the rest of my La Vanile to cover up the rancid smell. Maybe old?? Definitely NOT grapefruit in scent.

    The lotion itself is good quality and works well, the ingredient list is awesome, but the smell is not good at all. Some unscented products have chemical/medicinal/earthy smells that aren't so bad or that fade quickly, but not this one. I tolerated it for a few days because the lotion itself works for my dry skin but the smell is comparable to Elmer's White School Glue. It's not necessarily a terrible/nasty smell and it's very faint after application but getting whiffs of it throughout the day is unpleasant. I will probably try one of their scented lotions (if I can tolerate the ingredients) because I like the lotion (and love the ingredient list!) but hate the smell.
