I received Rocket To Russia (one of my favorite albums) in the mail today. I was really happy to own my favorite Ramones album on vinyl. But when i took it out of the sleeve and onto my turntable it started to play fine to Cretin Hop but all of a sudden during the song it skipped then played more and skipped again, and again, it did the same on almost all of the songs. As you can tell I was pissed. I even tried the trick where you put the coin on the cantaleiter to put more pressure on it so it plays deeper. didn't change a thing... so I put it back in the sleeve thinking; "how could they ruin Rocket To Russia". I also have Road To Ruin and Ramones coming today, I will be pissed beyond belief if they do the same.... Well at least Joe's Garage came today so I can listen to that classic. I really hope I can find a way to fix it. I love Rocket To Russia, and it better work!!

    Update!
I tried it on my other turntable and it worked fine so I may just need another needle on my other one. Ill look into it. I am sooooooooo happy that it works!!!!

I have been a Ramones fan since I was 15 when a friend handed me Rocket To Russia and told me to listen. I was an instant fan. I am a lifelong fan of the band, that will never change. So for 30 years I have been listening to them.
I recently bought a Audio-technica turntable, like 2 weeks ago. I began collecting LPs again, I found a Beach Boys in Concert (© 1972) album I used to have as a kid, never thought I'd see that album ever again much less hear it. What's the Beach Boys have to do with this Ramones album. You see the Beach Boys album I now have is an original 1972 album, I don't know who owned it before me, I don't know how it was treated, if it was left in the sun, nothing. It was an album at my local record store for $4.99. I bought a Styx album for 99 cents at my local bookstore. That album is an original ©1977, was soaked at one point, I can tell from the warped cover and left in the sun, the album itself is warped. BOTH of these albums play perfectly on my BRAND NEW turntable, not a scratch or a skip at all.

I gently opened my Ramones album, held it to the light to inspect it for any scratches or dust, ANYTHING. I found nothing, looks like a solid pressing. Drop the needle for the album to begin and it immediately skips. Okay, no, biggie, I grab my superfine felt album cleaner, give it a light dusting, begin playing it again and it skips in the exact same spot. I hold the album to the light once more, I see no dings, no scratches not even a speck of dust.Begin to play it again and it skips. I let all of side one play and it must have skipped about 20 times, if not more. Why is it that a 41 year old Beach Boys album plays perfectly on a brand new turntable but this album doesn't? The quality of the pressing 41 years ago vs the greed of a company making a cheap knockoff of a classic album. Rhino, I will never buy another of your "re-issues", terrible, just terrible.

I've had this album on tape, cd, mp3 and now vinyl. I'll be listening to it on my ipod I guess, I don't want to damage the needle on my turntable. I would not recommend that anyone buy this album, I'd recommend to steer clear of it. It'll make a nice wall mount, that's about it. I would give the quality of this album negative stars if I could.

First of all my LP was way to warpedto be able to spin smoothly. So much, it skips on some parts.

However, due to the fact that I know how great the music is, and the fact that amazon took care of this fast and accordingly i rate this 5/5. They packed this copy with 2 other LP's in a very good manner. I believe I just received a bad copy. That's all.

I'll buy another one some time soon and update this review.

I just got this in the mail today and this vinyl is awful!!! I saw that this album had "4 1/2 stars" without realizing most people were reviewing the CD, so I guess it's on me for not reading the vinyl specific reviews. Obviously the songs themselves are great, I love the Ramones, it's just the vinyl itself that's terrible. It skips at least once per song, usually more, and it's not fixed by cleaning the record or changing the needle. All my other records play perfectly, so it's not my record player. Guess I'll be returning it :/

The sticker on this album says "Punk Rocks finest 1/2 hour". That is accurate. Rhino Records has very poor quality control on their 180g albums, first one I received was warped beyond playability.

Rocket to Russia is perhaps the best Ramones album next to its self-titled album. It shows slight maturity of the band's maturity in songwriting. A truly unforgettable album by a legendary punk rock band.

The vinyl arrives without external plastic cover. The insert was broken in three sides and the vinyl presents a light mark in the first three tracks of side A.

Sollte in keiner Punkrock-Plattensammlung fehlen.
