When I was younger and super into makeup my first “big girl” purchase was a few Jeffery Star matte lips. I got Gemini as I am a Gemini and oh my god I was OBSESSED with the color. I’m a very pale women and most nude lip colors look awful on me and this one had a very good pink undertone. As the years went on I no longer supported Jeffery but I wanted a color just like Gemini. I did my research and came across this color! It really is an amazing match color wise to Gemini and if you are pale with pink undertones it looks amazing on our skin! The only issue I have is, it doesn’t dry down as matte as Jeffery’s does and it can be a little sticky when it gets wet so not the most comfortable. It does come off a lot easier than Jeffery’s though so if you ever struggled with that this is great. All in all it’s great for the price and color match!

    Color - the color is dark on me, but I'm very, milk white. For someone with medium skin, this might be a nude color. It's sort of got a purple, mauve-ish tone, but darker than the usual mauve color that I've seen. I think its' very flattering even though I have a warm skintone in which cool colors usually look bad. I really think this would literally look good on everyone, though especially light and medium skintones or those with light or medium colored lips. It might look great on dark skin, but I really can't make any guess because I'm so light.

It can smudge if you rub it rather than flaking off like other lipsticks, but it has to be seriously rubbed off. I only know this because I subjected it to a shower test in which I put it under hot, running water for the whole shower and then fiercely rubbed it. It still would not fully come off. Which leads me to my next category of ranking...

    How Much pressure can it stand up against?: The hot, steaming water for 30 minutes did not budge this whatsoever and when I did rub it lightly, it wouldn't smudge. I had to rub hard in order to make anything happen. Also, when I went to swim team practice (two hours of intense swimming and diving) it didn't move. It was still on. I'm impressed.

I always lick my lips, so I need to re-apply it throught the day, but it's totally more durable than other lipsticks I used. It's easy to remove as well.
    I totalled recommend buying it, if you know your color. If not, try the set of minis of different colors first.

    The picture for this product is better than what was when I bought it, and honestly, had I been able to see that, I'd have chosen another color. The red of this stain is RED--REALLY, REALLY RED. This is great if true reds work with your skin tone,but for mine, I'm far too golden-y/pale to carry that off and still look good. I mute it a bit with a light brown eyeshadow that I no longer use, and the color that results is perfect for me.

    Since this is a stain, you'd better mean where you put it, because it's not coming off without a fight. Yes, it will fade slightly as the day goes on, but even after 10 hours, there is still a very noticeable trace of the color on my lips. The product smells wonderful, like vanilla mint, and it applies very easily. I strongly suggest NOT using the wand because there's a higher possibility you'll go outside your natural lip line accidentally, thereby making you look like you downed a gallon of red Kool-Aid before leaving the house. Trust me, this is a thing that happened.

    It's a bit pricey, but you're getting a stain that's very rich in texture and in pigment, which means you won't spend the day putting it on over and over. It does hold up well against cheesburgers, beers, tacos, salsa and chips, and moderate make-out sessions.
