I loved the grunge bands from Seattle. Read a book about how it all started and MLB was mentioned. Wanted this cd because MLB was there when all the famous grunge bands were just getting fired up.This cd is part of that history.

Chequen a Temple of the dog.

I discovered Mother Love Bone after hearing them on the amazing Singles movie soundtrack. What can be said that hasn't been said about this little 'pre-grunge' grunge band? It's a great album with a great variety of songs, wonderful lyrics and .... a must own! That's it. You must own it if you have an interest in Seattle music. Though, if you care for 3 minute punk or hard rock or metal, meh, it may not be your thing. But, if you like melody and dynamics and some more aligned to Queen than the Ramones ... must own!

Discovering this was really incredible and I cannot recommend it enough for any grunge fan. After three listens through I consider this to easily compare to the classics by Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice In Chains. Simply stunningly beautiful stuff here and I cannot believe I never heard it until recently. I have already purchased the vinyl and can't wait to crank it. My favorites include This is Shangrila, Stardog Champion, Bone China, Heartshine, Man of Golden Words (amazing!), Gentle Groove, and of course the masterpiece Crown of Thorns! Wow....just wow! It is amazing to think what would have been if Andrew Wood lived but we did get Pearl Jam Ten and Temple of the Dog both of which are masterworks...

Shipped and arrived in perfect condition. The packaging is well done. My old CD has a bonus CD with "Capricorn Sister" and "Lady Godiva Blues" included. This new CD does not have the bonus CD. I really dig this band. I kept listening to them and realized that they use a piano to add a deep, rich sound that carries through certain songs. I love playing this on my stereo! Top notch sound production and mastering... (the drummer is me)

Love this band. I lost my old cd within the past year somehow. Thought I'd replace it.

This listing advertised the second cd but sadly doesn't come with it. I'm somewhat bummed.

I was introduced to Mother Love Bone right before Nirvana broke. A friend of mine from Seattle played this all the time. She had an early copy. I was hooked from the start. Unfortunately we all know what happened next. Gone too soon.

Listening to this album for the first time I wasn't sure what to expect. Heavy and fast or more bluesy rock stuff? I'm a fan of Pearl Jam's earlier albums and the Temple of the Dog project too.

Mother Love Bone feels like a mash-up of Guns 'n Roses and Temple of the Dog. This may sound odd, but it's the most accurate description that came to mind. I love it, and I can see why their being cut short was so tragic. It would be interesting to have a band like this still around today.

I highly recommend it to fans of 80's rock and 90's grunge. Worth a listen!

Classic album. Recommend to anyone who likes great rock music. You can hear the kind of melodies that later became part of Pearl Jam but the album also has a Gun n' Roses type edge to it. I've listened to it literally hundreds of times.
