The 2010 J Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet is composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Petite Sirah, 1% each Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, grown primarily on the gravelly clay loam and limestone-based soils of the estate vineyards located across from the winery and visitor's center. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for twelve months in mostly American oak, the 2010 offers ripe plum, blackberry, and currant aromas and flavors, with rich creamy layers and the classic American oak accents of vanilla, caramel, baked coconut, and toast. It is rich, full, and mouthfilling, with structured tannins and a smooth finish.
