Im Jahr 1927 wurde die Nebelhornbahn AG gegründet mit dem Zweck, die Nebelhornspitze touristisch zu erschließen. Bereits ein Jahr später war der Baubeginn, 1930 war die Nebelhornbahn fertiggestellt.
