The trowel body has a stainless steel blade with alloy shank and soft handle; (lightweight mini trowel has a plastic shaft) They easily slot into the plastic blade holder bracket on the flexible plastic blade 

The blade is easily replaced and changed for differnet sizes

With sponge back that ensures flexibility along the blade and without sponge back
