Description	Things to Come was as innovative a score as Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky, a couple of years later; the decision was made to involve Bliss at an early stage in 1934 so that almost abstract action sequences from H. G Wells's scenario--the attack on the Moon Gun, for example--were shot in the knowledge of the music that would accompany them. The reconstructed version of the concert suite given here, in a vigorous performance by Christopher Lyndon-Gee and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, omits the popular "March".
