Gamers take on the role of a police chief navigating his final days in charge of his corrupt city in This Is the Police. Jack Boyd runs the police in the city of Freeburg, and he needs to make half-a-million dollars in the 180 days before he retires. The action is presented in a series of stylized menus over an isometric view of the city, from which players manage the day-to-day tasks of the police department, investigate crimes, and respond to emergency situations while also dealing with a corrupt mayor, negotiating with crime bosses, talking to the media, and testifying in court.
